if you buy used, bring a flashlight to look in the lens, it's amazing how much more you see with a light. if it's dusty you can ask for a lower price and if you see fungus don't buy it. It only takes one holiday to humid place for fungus to start growing and I think it can spread to your other lens by way of your camera and bag..

I used to buy used local, but now I buy new from here, and find it cheaper than used, I was worried at first buying online but after 3 lenses and a body I've saved a ton of money and it has warranty, it would be a pain it the ass to ship it back but at least it's a option.

what do you shoot? how long until you can afford a 6D?
I sold the 7d because I don't shoot sports or birds and got sick of the noise in portraits.  the 6D is much better, the noise looks nice like film grain and isn't ugly the 7D, I do miss the faster AF but that's it.

I have bought 3 lenses and 1 Canon 6D body, over the last year from DWI.  they have the lowest prices I've found.  it's the same or cheaper than buying used in Aus.  they do add 2% for using paypal. customs may ask for GST.  included shipping was less than a week. and everything is good.
Be careful! some other places offer crazy low prices and make up for it with high hidden shipping charges.

The 24-105 L lens came with the hood, box and that useless leather bag.
The body came with cds and box but only an English "copy" of the main manual but not the wifi book or quickstart paper.  I just downloaded PDFs of them.  oh, and the charger was the American plug type with a Aus converter thrown in.  I guess that's why Aus pays $$$ more in the stores, a special charger must cost at least $500 extra...

I upgraded from the 7D to 6D. The noise in low light on the 7D was ruining my portraits. I'm amazed at how nice the 6D high ISO noise looks, like film grain instead of a blotchy mess. I miss the 7D AF a little bit, but it's well worth giving up for much better images. love full frame.

I did a number look up and it said it was from India, even though it looked like a local mobile number.  they get the photos from other real ads, they just take the text & photos then change the price and post it.  that way the text looks legit and aren't full of speeelingg mistakes like most scam ads.

Yeah, it's weird that they were all Landline numbers too.
But still, they were spread out in time and place, and appeared to have all original photos and such (I can spot a fake ebay ad a mile away, maybe these gumtree ones work differently).

I've emailed them all anyway, even if they are genuine if I can't get a bargain (i'm not posting money) then i'm going to ruin it for everyone else by letting them know how much they're really worth.

And if they do just sell my email address onwards, who cares, I've got a foolproof anti-spam system. I give a unique address to everyone, if they spam it, I just turn it off in the MX records...

I don't really want to carry two cameras, with extra batteries and learn a new set of controls etc. but with a superzoom lens on a DSLR you could only use live view, because the view would be much too small in the viewfinder. I heard the nikon has a digital zoom so the full frame cameras can use crop lenses.

You can fit a Sigma DC lens on a Canon full frame but you have to crop afterward and it looks funny in the viewfinder.

Ya I started with the UZ too,  I just sold my 7D for the 6D, I had the Tamron 18-270 PZD it was good a walk around lens.  I think the full frame Tamron 28-300 is older and not as good..  I have the canon 24-105L but it would great to have more range and less weight.

For $400 the Canon SX50 has an amazing zoom range, and now with RAW! It's too bad they won't make a lens like this for DSLRs, I don't care if I'm not using the full sensor, I would still get the speed and high iso etc...

I'd love to see a shoot out with this and one of those $300 samyang 800 -1200 f8 manual focus lens or Sigma 150-500, Tamron 18-270.

Canon General / How come Canon never responds to anything?

How come Canon, and a lot of big companies never explain or answer any questions.  Why make a new sensor for the 6D when everyone was hoping for the same 5DIII sensor?   Why limit the video compression?  etc. etc..
Are there good reasons or are they just protecting other lines and/or money, as everyone keeps on guessing.

if you set C3 to high speed multi frame, AI servo, auto iso, etc.(spray & pray mode) then if something suddenly happens ie: seeing a famous person or a wild animal etc, then you can just rotate the dial as far as it goes and you are ready to shoot.
