EOS-M / Re: To buy M or not to buy M?
« on: April 14, 2013, 09:10:49 PM »
I'm pretty sure if I didn't have a 5D2 to use, I'd be about ready to throw my M against a wall. Usually it just sits in the cabinet as I lug around 20 lbs in equipment to school. Understand IT'S NOT A DSLR replacement. It's a great camera if you look at the camera what way. It focuses about how fast a point and shoot would be. It has a lot of fun features (profesionally I don't use them but taking pictures with friends, it comes in handy).

It's a great camera overall and with the recent $400 Ebay M with 22mm lens, I'd TOTALLY GET IT AGAIN. HAHAHAH I got it when it was $720 though.

Got my pitchfork ready. Any other 1st Generation EOS M owners want to join me in angrily marching on Canon's Headquarters?

 >:(
I don't understand... Could you explain? This is not sarcasm or trolling.... I really don't understand and hope you can explain it to me.

Got my M back in January because I was hoping that the firmware would be able to fix up the autofocus, but turns out it couldn't. T_T

If I had the camera and I needed the lenses, there wouldn't be another fire put I'd rather throw all my money into :D

But alas, I don't, so to me, that's just a whole lotta money for lenses.

WUT WUT. I just got my M though. T_T If it's like a M-pro, I'm going to cry.  >:(

I think it will be... so cry now.  :D  You'll cry even more because it will have a swivel screen + EVF + a little bit more buttons.  :D

Not a fan of the swivel screen I see on my friend's cameras.

BUT DAMMIT I LOVE BUTTONS. T_T And I really need the viewfinder because I've been smashing my face onto the screen of my M thinking there's a viewfinder.

I'm sorry but, the only reason the 50 1.2 is so highly regarded is because Canon intentionally leaves the 50 1.4 as such a piece of crap.  It is a classic "entice to upgrade" tactic.

I loved my 50 1.4 :[ I'm a 12th grader, so when I started photography, my dad gave me the 50 1.4 and the 85 1.8 (both of which were amazing taking pictures at the school play I went to last night) and I thought that for the price, the 50 1.4 is a really great lens.

I think the assumption that the 50 1.2 is highly regarded reflects over the entire L-prime lines and not only the 50. Ignoring the fact that it costs a kidney. T_T

I got this one over the Winter Break.

http://products.lowepro.com/product/Event-Messenger%E2%84%A2%20100,2289.htm

It was like one of four bags in the world that actually fit the M with the 18-55 attached.
Still had room for the 270EXII and the charger.

:D

Lenses / Making the most out of a 50 1.2?
« on: December 24, 2012, 01:35:07 PM »
Our family finally entered the world of L primes for Christmas and I was wondering how we can make the most out of a 50mm 1.2?

I used it on my Dad's 1Ds3 yesterday and took a picture of the darkest part of our house and when we saw it, tears were shed at its awesomeness. ;)
