Hello everyone, i just wanted to share my thoughts on the 1dx. I just picked one up one today and let me tell you that i am shocked at how good the iso performance is on this body. I expected this camera to be a 5d3 on steroids, im moving from a 5d3 and 1d mark iv and this camera is the best of both worlds (better lowlight performance than the 5d3 and faster shutter than the 1d mk iv)! that is all.

« on: March 20, 2012, 12:36:15 AM »I thought I did, I posted this on 3 different forums. I bought from San Jose Camera & Video, body only. They also have kits in stock. 12 in total. They had a stack of them when I picked up mine at 5:30PM PST today.Picked up a 5D3 body from my local shop, yes I paid nearly $300 in tax. They still have more left.
at this point it's blowing my mind that people aren't sharing any details.... which shop? kits? bodys? State?
I'm still waiting to hear from Keeble and schuchat in palo alto ca, I pre ordered on day one of the announcement . San Jose camera & video might be my back up plan. Thanks for the info.

thanks for all the advice! I'm now looking at the 70-200 f2.8IS that ive found for a great price, the 70-200 f4 lIS is still in the running as well. I'm leaning towards the 2.8l IS version.

I think i'll be glad i bought the 70-200 in the long run. i purchased the 70-200 non is, loved the clarity but didn't like the blurry shot i got when shooting free handed at 200mm. i found the 70-200 f4 is version for 980.00 on craigslist and i think i'm going to buy it. one day i hope to be able to afford the 70-200 f2.8 is.
