EOS Bodies / Re: Anyone else preorder the EOS M yet?

I pre ordered one of the day of the announcement!

It will go along side my 7D and 5D mkII.

Am really looking forward to have a smaller lighter body to go travelling with.

Can see myself mostly using it with the 22mm and the 40mm via the adapter.

That includes VAT at 20% of which we have no other choice than to pay.

Not entirely Canon's fault really.

Because in Europe (UK) for the EOS M + 22mm + adapter and the free flash, we will have the privilege of paying...

£879.99 or $1363.98.

Still feel hard done by?

In the UK, it looks like there will be 2 different kits...

EOS M + 22mm F/2 in black which also comes with the EF / EF-S adapter

or

EOS M + 18-55 (seems to be available in red, white or silver)

Both kits come boxed with the 90EX flash.

Interview with a Canon chap here at 2:12 says that "looking at the feedback so far, seeing if a viewfinder option would be worth doing"

I know a lot of guys on here are based in the U.S. and from the dpreview preview here - http://www.dpreview.com/previews/canon-eos-m

Because mirrorless cameras have struggled to make headway in the US, Canon is only going to sell one kit option in this market. Targeting an enthusiast buyer, the camera plus 22mm pancake will be available from speciality photo stores only for $799, with the 18-55mm zoom sold separately for $299. The company will also be emphasizing its video capabilities, which are essentially the same as the EOS 650D but in a smaller, cheaper package.

Are those extra contacts on the hot shoe and if so, has anyone else noticed them?

Could that mean that the hot shoe is for something else in addition to a flash?
