I've been looking for a used 5DII for a few months now, almost bought one a few times now. I really hope this price drop affects Sweden too, because if they were to start selling 5DII bodies new for around 11.000 Kr (coinmill.com, US to Swedish currency conversion) that'd be super great!

Also, I'm going to use it mainly for filming so the "outdated AF" etc wouldn't really bother me that much.

I've been thinking about this for a little while now, but I still don't know the answer.
What does the "D" actually mean in camera model names such as 5D, 7D, 6D, 550D, D7000, D800, D90 and so on?

Can't wait. If Canon is to announce a new cheaper Full Frame/7D Mark II, 70D, 6D, I might buy it if it's under $2000. If not, or if it's released next year, I'll buy a 5D Mark II. It's price has really dropped recently.

I'd go with a wide angle, normal and tele i.e. 16-35mm L II, 24-70mm L II and 70-200mm L IS II.

I am a young pro cameraman (mostly documentary) who has earned enough money that I would feel comfortable upgrading from my personal camera from a T2i to a FF camera. So my decision is, do I buy a 5D II right now or do I wait until Canon announces their new entry level FF camera. It seems like the price will be about the same so I am torn. My usage of this camera will be 75% video, but I also do some side photography. I need to start compiling some pros and cons because at this point in my life dropping $2K is a pretty big deal.

I'm sure it would be best to wait for the official announcement of the new FF camera before I make my decision, but I am impatient and if the answer if the 5DII I want to get it right away.

This sounds like it was me who wrote it... XD I'm in the exact same position..
