EOS Bodies / Re: EOS 4D full frame (6D)

All this talk of price / options / positioning of a lower cost FF body distorts the camera line in one way or another.

I see this as the following possible relationship:

7D          5D3
------ = --------
60D       new 4D

For the new FF body:
We scale down weather sealing
Provide articulating screen
Lower fps (rebel level + fraction)
Video as in 5d3 (& allowing ML)
Price point differential as in 7D/60D (25-30%??)

Hits those wanting FF, not needing higher FPS
Hits vid lovers, willing to compromise on build (eg GH2 crowd)

60D is a nice niche body IMHO - this would be the basis for lower cost FF

If there is a 4D ff coming . I will defeitly have weather sealing as a priority. They can scrap the video

I realy dont think that Canon will skip the 1,6 sensor. What i realy think that Canon will do is produce a 36x36 sensor with between 50 and 75 MP in the feauture

How about a 36x36 sensor.
I think that this is the ideal sensor size

Lenses / Re: Patent: A new 16-35 f/2.8 or Faster Concept?

Wait. Wait. Wait. As a long time Canon user, I bought an adapter to use the Nikon 14-24 and haven't looked back. I am more and more disappointed with Canon. They've had a long time to catch up to Nikon and their wide angle zoom. It's not a little bit better than Canon's it's a LOT better.

I get a Nikon D800E to test in a couple of weeks and if it looks as good as I hope, I'll be selling all my Canon gear. CPS has sucked for the longest time and Nikon here in Canada seems to be going out of their way to build goodwill among them. You know the old saying about number two.

But you loose autofocus and the electronic aperture if you use an adapter

Dont want a new 16-35 . I want a 14-24 or even wider. If Canon dont come up with a super ultra wide lens. I might consider swapping over to Nikon

EF 12-24 f.2.8/4.0 L is. This is a lens that i don`t think Canon ever will manufacture. But i`m waiting for it anyway.
And my dream wish EF 14-24 f.4.0 L T&S with autofocus

Well, certainly it doesn't matter what any model is called. My (over)reaction is to the minority of commenters who seem to feel that the bigger the sensor they have the more of a photographer they are.

I'm not sure who the commenters you are reffering to are that implied a larger sensor makes them a better photographer. However, a larger sensor does offer several advantages that gives photographers more tools to work with. Namely, more bokeh with similar framing with the same apeture compared to a crop camera. Generally better high iso noise performance. Larger pixel size, minimizing lens imperfections and motion blur compared to a high pixel density crop camera. Do these make someone a better photographer, of course not. Do they allow more creative freedom under difficult shooting conditions? Definitely.

The bigger the sensor is. The more wide angel i can get

If it had
36 mp
5 pictures pr second
96% viewfinder
Autofocus like 5D mk III
And iso up to 12800
I would be very happy
