EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: Buying 2nd hand 70D, what to check?
« on: October 13, 2014, 12:09:56 AM »
Canon 70D is the only touch screen DSLR from canon,if it is not touch screen,it is not Canon 70D.Maybe some China 70D

I would prefer canon came out something with high dynamic range and high iso performance instead of high megapixel.I am very happy with 23MP from 5Dmark 3,I just need more high dynamic range for photo manipulation.

This is simply jaw dropping impressive!!!!!

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: The Unthinkable: Swapped out 5D3 for 6D

for hobbies whom don't required tracking the subject or intensively use alot of outer focus point.I do think 6D is more than enough. The Wifi & gps thing is an interesting featured for travel especially with light prime lens.

However,as for myself ,I am a wedding photographer where I extensively use the outer focus point tracking movements.Oftenly,I do think 5Dmark III auto focus point isn't wide spread enough which I do even focus with the most outer focus point and recompose to the position I desire.

Tracking using outer focus point

Beside weight and price. This is an amazing lens

Great shot! I really like this close-up, but the subject's skin look kinda "plastic", or unnaturally smooth at best. Did you do some heavy photoshopping on this one? if so, it really shows. Otherwise, the rendering seems to indicate that the protagonists have been dipped in resin just prior to the photo session, which would be fine for a Barbie commercial. (sorry if my comment appears sarcastic, that's not the intention, I think this is a great work apart from the skin rendition)

back to the original post: I went through many user's reviews when I had to pick my next telephoto lens, and so far I haven't read anything negative about the 70-200L/2.8 beside its weight. I ultimately went for the 70-300L because of its lower weight (i.e. portability), longer range and better rendering at the longer end than the 70-200L/2.8 with TC. If you don't mind the weight and shorter range and need a shallower DoF, then the 70-200L/2.8 is definitely the sure thing.

Yes,the skin was heavily smoothen via post(NIK)

I actually like the look, looks like CGI in a video game. How did you achieve it?

I light it with 60x60cm softbox and smoothen the skin using Nik colour effect pro.

Here are the metadata:-
Camera: Canon
Model: Canon EOS 5D Mark III
ISO: 200
Exposure: 1/200 sec
Aperture: 5.0
Focal Length: 150mm

I tried both and I pick up canon version due to sigma mute colour.Somehow unexplainable I can't manage to get the sigma to mimic canon's colour in post.

I personally tried both Canon and sigma and I end up getting Canon 35mm F/1.4 L because of:-

-I have doubt of Sigma focusing accuracy
-I prefer Canon colour, sigma colour seems to be pale and cold side.

(Snip!)

Well, this building is in PA steel country...but it is a coal-sifting plant. I am so fascinated with the place I spend whole weekends there!
Hmm... Allentown? I was in Bethlehem in 99 - twice... Stayed at the Hampton inn across 22. Liked the fall stay better than the Feb stay...

I drive thru Allentown and Bethlehem on the way to coal country...Frackville and Wilkes-Barre areas are a treasure- trove for shooting. I see photos everywhere I look.

One of the nicest Images I've seen on this site, very striking.

Dude,this shot is amazing man!
