Your right, if it was more weather sealed I would feel more confident to use it in more extreme conditions, but I used it on the "Snow Monkeys" in Japan at Nagano in December, snowed an absolute bitch & the temperature was well below freezing, on the 1Dx the Lens performed a complete treat.

You used the 85 1.2L II in snowing and freezing conditions? Are you aware that this lens is not weather sealed? Why are you not confident about the lens if you did this? Does it still work?
I dare not take mine outside sunny and dry conditions.

I would like to see an improvement on wifi connection speed, it is very slow to discover pc-camera.

The L glass. Simple as that. The 85 1.2L II is simply unmatched.

I also use the hähnel Giga T Pro II, you can use it as a timer and intervalometer and wired or wireless.
As intervallometer you can progam a program for lets say 10 shots per minute and then embed this progam in a 2nd progam so it repeats progam 1 every 5 min.
I think this makes it perfect for time lapses.
It is expensive but it can do every thing you would want.

This seems like a huge advantage over regular intervalometers. I struggle to imagine what it would look like though. Can you show me the effect his double loop has in time lapse videos?

I have experience with recovering lost files and "overwritten" is basically the dead-sentence for your files.
What you saw is information from the file system (sometimes referred to as "slack space") that was not yet overwritten (as it is in a different location on the disk than the actual file data).
You can employ a professional company to try to recover your data. I have heard things about magnetic properties of disks that allow you to recover data after it is written over (not numerous times) but you are in the forensic territory there, sorry to say.
