Carl Zeiss Distagon T* 1,4/55

Animal Kingdom / Re: Wrong Photography Ethics?

for me, photography (or a camera) is a "tool" to visualize an idea. sometimes it's not possible to visualize this idea just with photography and the reality. so you have to add another tools like photohop (or flashlights, or graduated filters etc.) to reach your goal.

Third Party Manufacturers / Re: "I am boycotting Nikon" campaign

well, the carl zeiss group is producing sights for anti personnel weapons like the hk g36 (for hunting rifles as well  ;) )...

problem is, Canon is driven by product differentiation, max. profit (lowest cost & highest prices) and they are so conservative they probably don't think about real innovations, even not with a cpu as fast as their digic5 (or 6).

Third Party Manufacturers / Re: future of sigma art line

a new 50 1.4 with the optical performance of the zeiss makro planar t* 50mm f/2 ze and no af-issues would be amazing ;) ! if the wide open performance is good as the performance of the sigma 35mm 1.4 it would be even more amazing. can't wait until they announce a new 50... but maybe canon is faster.

if I had the money, I'd buy an EIZO ;)

Lenses / Re: Going to get the 24-70 2.8 II. Want a 70-200 as well
« on: January 13, 2013, 06:02:37 AM »
if there is no more money for the 70-200 II, i would buy the tamron 24-70 (with vibration control!) instead of the canon 24-70 II. the tamron costs only half the price and is a very good performer. and then some money should be left over for the 70-200 II  ;)

Canon General / Re: 70-200 F2.8 mark I or mark II?!
« on: January 06, 2013, 03:36:18 AM »
the new tamron 70-200 with VC (IS) should be a great lens too. but the canon 70-200 mkII is the unquestionable king of them all ;) .

This shot is a classic example of why video will never replace a still photograph.

thanks a lot :) i totally agree with you, photography will always have a living authority.
but i wish the background wouldn't be that disturbing.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: 5D II or 5D III or 6D?
« on: December 28, 2012, 06:29:10 AM »
I can shoot at 12800 iso and have usable images with probably less or as much noise as 6400 on my 5d mkii

but only when shooting jpg files. there is no difference when shooting raw :)
