Landscape / Re: How Would You Edit This Landscape Photo?

Fun!

Ok, I came in late, so to try something different I cropped to a square format. Why should landscapes be landscape?

Edited in LR4. Cropped to 'thirds on the key peak (left top). Adjusted overall exposure and contrast, used a grad filter to darken the sky and then added some saturation there, used clarity and temperature to make the background distant range 'pop' a little more, added vibrance and clarity but de-saturated the closer mountain range.

Done quickly so some of the 'brushing' is a little rough (just like home - my wife doesn't let me apply the top coat...)

EOS Bodies - For Stills / 6D Wireless control - possibilities for new features?

The wireless control is pretty basic but works well enough. Strikes me that it opens up all sorts of opportunities for programmers to create things like an Intervalometer app.

I see that intervalometers are already available: http://www.canonrumors.com/forum/index.php?topic=4905.0 but I guess as software it'd be one less thing to carry, as long as you have your phone with you.

What other possibilities are there?

• Crazy slow but steady change in zoom for weird fireworks type shots?
• Photo stacking at multiple focus distances?
  (Yes the stacking would be done in post processing)
• Other?

For me it's simple. Price. I'm a hobbyist and I'm not (yet??) good enough to exploit any technical differences between 5DIII & 6D. I wanted to move to Full Frame from an entry level 1000D that'd I've had for 4 years and learnt a lot with. The GPS & Wifi work for me and are useful, I don't care about a second card slot.

As Helen Sotiriadis (who's a far better photographer than I'll ever be) says in her review of her new 6D:
this camera has only one card slot but, in all honesty, i don’t miss the second slot. i’ve never had a card fail on me (and i don’t treat them very well) and i’m conscientious about backing up my files as soon as possible, so the probability of losing a shoot is minimal. i also speak from the perspective of not having to shoot once-in-a-lifetime events. i don’t do weddings or christenings to be too nervous about it... still, in previous years, nobody had double slots and they shot these events just fine. if i were to shoot a wedding, i’d span the day’s events over more cards so as not to risk losing too much if a card failed.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Having fun with 6D from 1000D

Bought myself a mid-life crisis 6D & 24-105 lens having had a 1000D for 4 years. Having fun exploring. Exciting and also - wow - lots more options to think about when composing & shooting.

Having spent the money I'm sure I'm noticing the difference in quality. I can't afford not to 

Here's me experimenting with AEB (and then combined in Photomatix / Lightroom). (And yes, I know I could AEB with 1000D, but it's easier with 6D as you hold your finger on the shutter and it stops automatically after the 3 shots.) I hadn't thought of AEB on a moving subject before, but why not?

Anyone else tried new things after a massive camera body upgrade and care to share?

Technical Support / Camera & lens bundle - do Canon tune them?

New to posting.

I'm looking forward to a new Canon 6D with 24 - 105 lens 'bundle'. Just wondering, should I assume I'll need to AFMA this combination or will Canon have done this already given the two are in the same box?

(I rather suspect I will need to check the focus, but just want to be sure.)
