From the UK magazine T3 - "A firmware update in 2012 improved Canon’s aging 7D DSLR greatly, but now the Mark II is officially on the way. It’s been road-tested at the Winter Olympics and will have another outing at the World Cup before landing in time for Chrimbo"

But, the 7D guys who get wonderful bird photos from it limit themselves to iso 320 or, at the very most 400, if they are going to crop. I use 200 iso or at most 320

Wrong, they regularly use 800 iso on the 7D without any problems.

5D Mark III’s running the new firmware
We’ve received various reports that EOS 5D Mark III’s that have come back from Canon service in the last week are running firmware 1.2.1.

So I guess if you can’t wait until the 30th of April, you can drop your camera off to Canon!

Is there any proof of this, or is it just "various reports" ?
