Pricewatch Deals / Re: Best Buy Big Sale on Lenses
« on: September 30, 2013, 06:03:04 AM »
We've purchased 3 of our ff cameras, and several lenses from best buy.  I have been VERY pleased with the service, and returns have not been an issue when we returned our 100mm for the 100L.

Keep in mind, they've changed some of their policies, so read up.(nothing big, but only 15 days to return instead of 30, tiered membership "levels" and so on).

It's nice to have a store you can walk into if something is wrong/you need something real quick.  Plus they price match a lot of online competitors, including amazon...

We've got some 20x30 canvas's, and a few large acrylics(24x36)...but we don't do our own printing haha, not yet anyway.

That's all you got?
Perhaps if you posted some images we might be able to provide useful feedback

This would be helpful however, with exif data...or at least telling us what settings were used.

We use a 5DMIII, and 2 6D's.  One of the 6D's came with the 24-105, so the copy we received was BRAND NEW, and we were also disapointed by the image quality on all the cameras...even on the 5DMIII.  Just as you said, the images were in focus, but they weren't as sharp as some of our other lenses.

Ive seen some awesome shots online from the 24-105, so I dont know if maybe the lenses we got had issues or what, but you are not alone in that regard.

Technical Support / Raw support of 6D files in Windows 8...

Is there a codec/update out that I've missed?  We can view the raw files from our 7d, 60d and 5dm3, but on our 6D they dont work!  We can pull them into lr/ps and view them, but for simple view/delete it helps being able to open them in windows photo viewer.

Reviews / Re: Review - Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT

I know I find myself using ocf more with our 600/st e3 rt since it works together rather seamlessly.

definitely pick up an st-e3-rt as everyone else has mentioned...My main reason for it was it was slightly cheaper than another 600 unit, and much lighter/less bulky.

We run eneloops in all our "AA" required stuff fyi.

Wait a minute , the 70-200 2.8 can come OFF the camera?!?  I thought it was permanent...well at least the I use it haha.

Jkjk, I can see bringing it, but I would think I'd have our 14, 17-40 or 16-35 on most of the time.

Congrats!  I know the more I use our 6D, the more and more I like it.

The image quality and colors continue to impress me.

Lenses / Re: Why aren't zoom lenses faster than 2.8?
« on: February 22, 2013, 03:59:23 AM »
I think it would be crazy expensive, and crazy heavy...

However, I'm in for a 8-600 f/1.2.  I could probably settle for a 1.4 if I have too.

Also, when formatting the memory card, be sure to us the "low level format" option

Lenses / Re: How much would you pay for Canon 24-70 f/2.8 L IS
« on: February 05, 2013, 05:16:42 AM »
I think it would be nice to have IS on the 24-70, as it would just be another tool to use for our benefit in certain situations, but my main concern is that extra cost of IS on that lens would make it like a $3k lens

hey, does the zoom ring actually go the same way as canon lenses?(the "correct" way I might add haha)
