I guess I'm gonna be grilled for saying that I find this product to be a game changer, well atleast for me but then i'v Said it so ...............I dunno

I have to agree.

For those of us shooting low budget shorts and indy films the price of the current model puts it out of affordability to purchase outright but I'm still going to rent one when i get a chance to have a play around.

I feel that a lot of people that are complaining that this is "just another gyro" or steady cam obviously don't need what this would be used for.

It seems that whenever someone mentions even the hint of something to do with DSLR Filmmaking on this forum, people go into witch hunt mode, as if its going to bastardise the sanctity of pure DSLR photography. Or something along those lines.

Thanks for the tip - I had actually bought a (2nd hand, of course) Mamiya RB67 at some point around 15 years ago, but never really had the time to learn how to properly use it... Not the camera for me (for the same reason I don't do much landscape photography. I am not all that patient ) Beautiful device, though!

buy me medium format and I will be more supportive than your wife whenever you buy new gear

I was photographing lightening,had the camera and the umbrella in the same hand and just as I was switching the camera (putting another one on the tripod)  a gust of wind pulled my hand and I hit myself with the 7d's hotshoe right in the face and broke my nose

OMG, that's a winner.

But is the 7D OK?  :=)







at wasn't the scary part,2 seconds later lightening stuck the neighbouring building literally 20 ft away

Yeah obviously it was my nose against the 7d who do u think won???
I got 3 stitches

I'll tell u what we want, we want a camera with 5d3 ergonomics and af with the 6d sensor at the price of a 5d2

I don't get it. I happen to like the ergonomics of the 6D better. Then again that is subjective. One thing is fact, the 6D is lighter. Don't underestimate that.

True, some like their cameras light, some like it heavy I should have used some of us instead of "we"

Thanks for the replies everyone I am more confused than ever about what to get but atleast I know what I want now. The 6d though good always felt like a rebel the ergonomics and the build did not inspire confidence,I felt I could damage it just by tightening my grip .I really tried to love the 6d but as they say people differ after the 7d the 6d felt wrong (i love it but I wouldn't use it).I know what I want is impossible to get so I just want to get as close to it and not regret. I guess I want a camera with Mark3 ergonomics,6d sensor and autofocus at a 5d2 price but since its not possible I just gotta keep looking till I find it maybe what i want would be a 7d2

Anyway we just wish our 7d had a 6d sensor,it would be the best camera in the world for some of us

I'm one of those who is rooting for the 6d have used it and amazed by its quality but a second hand 5d2 will always cost less.

Which makes sense.  But another way to look at it would be: for a couple hundred dollars you get a brand new camera under warranty with some added features.  And if you wanted to put in the leg work you could get the kit package, sell off the 24-105 and pretty much break even with a used 5d2.

That's really smart I believe the 6d is better at base iso (s)
