wow, both Auto ISO and Minimum shutter speed is new to me.

My 5D1 got no Auto ISO, useful when my wife is using it.

does the 5D2 has auto ISO?

i was in the same boat as the OP. had 2 kids now.

always like the video continuous AF for chasing toddlers. the equivalents of your 17-85 would be a Carl Zeiss 16-80, it will be like Canon IS since Sony has OSS in the body, but this lens got no SSM (equivalent to USM), you may hear some sound.

i end up keeping a 5D classic for portraits, and buying a NEX 5n. but the A57 will use the same sensor.....

i wonder what the new rebel will do for AF.  that maybe a hot seller for a lot of parents.

i used to have a T1i, (assuming the AF is same as T2i?), now with a 5D1

the AF performance difference isn't noticeable, i always thought they are the same system, with 1 cross type at the center?

the biggest complaint on the 5d2 was its AF, thats why the 5D3 has a major upgrade.

my concern for you at the other hand is you are losing the reach you get from crop, how are you going to get back the extra reach? extender?

i was doing a family shoot with 2 toddlers, try chasing them with MF; not every subject walk predictably like a bride  ;)

I can shoot with MF most of the time, but will sure WANT a good AF in the MK3. not the contrast detection from D7000, and assuming the D800 use the same contrast detection?

the only hope to get decent phase detection AF is from Sony's up coming A99.  But as far as i know, the A77 do'nt offer full manual control when you have the AF on, its either or.

i never shoot concert, so don't know how far you stand, but buying a 85mm compare to a 50mm isn't that much of a difference.

I also vote for the 135 F2, if budget don't allow that, maybe the 100mm F2?

when i had the crop:
Tamron 17-50 F2.8, Sharp, 1/3 of the price of Canon, smaller, shorter, lighter. Just loud.
Sigma 30mm F1.4, i don't see whats better from the 35mm L, just this can't fit FF.

Sigma 50mm F1.4: Sharp, nice bokeh, good colour, but more $ than Canon.

Always waiting for Tamron & Sigma to come out with some nice lens

judging from the reflection off the bottle, these image you have are kind of well lighted, my understand is that shooting high iso in well lighted situation will perform better than same iso in really low light situation, anybody confirm that.

also, you using flash as well, which makes shutter speed faster?

to answer OP question, have you seen the used market for the 5Dc? old 12mp FF, still lots of people want it. such a great camera to use if you don't print poster

I used to believe all these sample posted above, but not anymore after i read a deal thread from a Canadian forum:

this is thru pricematch, easily 18% off

shock? wait till you see this:
cost + 10% for eomployee's friend, employee pay only cost +5%

so yeah, cost is $1350, but thats obvious is without overhead cost

i just hope that Canon will bring Video continuous AF on the T4i, since the majority of the buyer are family picture/video oriented. (as in shooting video for children)

if not, I will wait for the A55 replacement, the A65/77 is too noisy

why does it has to be high end stuff?

maybe its time for 650D/T4i? probably up the ISO a little bit more, some fancy LCD screen like the Sony A77, price higher than 60D.

EOS Bodies / Re: Big 5D Mark II Price Drops in Canada & USA

There must be something coming our way as I have never seen the price of this body drop anywhere below 2400CAD  :o.

I'm in the market for a FF and I'm curious about it's replacement and what it has to offer but if the price drops further to 1500 I may just pull the trigger on this bad boy ;)!

Update...just noticed the USA rebates begin September 25th - DOH!

i heard rumors that this batch of 5D2 is affected by nuclear pollution from Japan.....  ;)

we should all wait and not buy, then Canon will introduce heavier rebates, so we can possibly buy a 5D2 for $1800?

anyone have a clue what time this "pro announcement" is supposed to be, or normally is?  i figured it's getting a bit late in the day for it now.  it's 3pm here in the UK now...

probably just a fancy printer  ;)

my whishlist would be a lower mp count for non-professional shooter who never print in poster size.

an APS-C with 12mp with outstanding high ISO and Dynamic range.

Phase detection continuous AF during video (Fuji did that right?)

a FF with 16-18mp, 7D AF, Phase detection continuous AF during video recording.

100% sure Canon will keep doing the mp race.

i 2nd the 650d announcement.

probably the same as 600D but with similar LCD "transforming" ability to the Sony A77.

possibly 20 mp and worst noise performance, priced exactly like the 60D.  ;)
