EOS Bodies / Re: Upgrade from D300s

better resolution as in bigger res?

if so, i believe your D300s is 12mp right? the 5D classic is also 12mp.

if you want better resolution and better high ISO, want not stay with Nikon and not to deal with the trouble to switch brand?

i believe the D7100 gives you good enough high ISO performance, whopping 24mp as well.

Thanks Jerry for the reply.  I should have name my title to YN-622c + non-RT speedlight. or maybe using the 580, guessing the output is fairly close to the 600RT.

Any i never consider the Pocket wizards cheap(er)

Third Party Manufacturers / Re: Sigma Announces New 30mm f/1.4 for APS-C
« on: January 30, 2013, 09:48:25 AM »
Someone needs to start a SigmaRumors site so I can rant about them being slow to offer more FF lenses in the Art line. An APS-C and three for mirrorless! How dare they! I have & love the new 35, and am waiting with bated breath (whatever that means) for a 24 and an 85. I guess I'll just have to bitch here for now...

I have been hoping for a SigmaRumors site as well, or maybe combine with other aftermarket manufactures, Tamron, Tokina, etc, Admin, you've got source on these brand?  ;)

I sure hope the 85/1.4 is next.

Same here, tempted to buy their 85mm since release, but if they have the Art series update with the USB dock capability, then i will buy one for sure!

So i am reading a lot of awesome reviews on both STE3 and YN-622c, and obviously the pricing is miles a apart, especially you have to go with the 600EX-RT option, so if i have to go more than 1 speedlite, that can get really expensive.

Am i missing some important function off Canon's RT series?

anybody try both?

Lighting / Re: Highend Youngnuo vs Canon 430EXII

I don't know if I can offer much in terms of advice on this matter.  However, you should be careful about the YN568EX.  If you order one, make sure it is a unit manufactured after November, 2012.  All the ones made before that have a software error causing the flash to not function on the hot-shoe of the Canon 5D classic.

wow, thats good to know, if i ask this question to a ebay seller, i doubt he will tell me the truth, or may say he doesn't know?

maybe i should just look at Nissin and Metz as suggested.

Canon General / Re: Patent: Large Back Illuminated Sensor
« on: January 21, 2013, 10:55:01 AM »
i believe Sony only implement it on their P&S for now? not on any of their APSC yet.

Looks like if Canon needs to advance their APSC sensor, this is the right move?

Lighting / Highend Youngnuo vs Canon 430EXII
« on: January 14, 2013, 11:37:07 AM »
so i am looking for a speedlite for general use that woke hurt my wallet much.

Look at Youngnuo high end ETTL flash, 565, 568, which guide number is rated at 58, but i do see some post claiming a test shows similar output to the 430EXII.

so my question is, what do i get from the higher end Younguo that i don't get from the Canon? pros & cons? the 430EXII is roughly $250.

i understand the 565 has external battery pack option, which the 430 don't.

Camera would be 5Dc, currently with YN-465 which i don't put on top of my hotshoe.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: 6D vs 5D mark III
« on: January 03, 2013, 10:21:42 AM »
this contradict with Canonrumor post:

weird  ???

the 5Dc is a 20D with FF sensor.

the 5D2 is more like a 40D/50D with FF sensor, to be fair....

but like others, i think there are tons of Canon user waiting the 6D to drop to ~1500 mark, or something like the D600 with 24-85 @ $2000.

for the Transcend, A-Data, Kingston, definitely try Canadacomputers, their pricing is very similar to B&H.

as for Lexar or Sandisk, my local Henry's told me just go buy from B&H or Adorama, they just can't match their volume

with my first baby, i had my 300D/ Rebel from my brother, i had no clue how to use it.

if this is OP first DSLR, i would suggest getting a bit used to it, coz you dont want to miss any shots in the delivery room! use it for maternity pics in the meantime?
