EOS Bodies / Re: 1Dx desire (A cautious approach)
« on: August 11, 2012, 01:23:09 PM »
the way I see it, is I base it off where I currently am in my career, (still studying for my BAA in photography) and then realize that I wont have the money for  a 1Dx and have money for food too XD But my plan is to purchase a mrk3 soon, and not because im settling for less, but because I do feel it will accommodate my needs. Not to mention, by the time I graduate and start moving forward more, so has technology, so investing in the best at such an early stage may not be the best.

regardless, im sure both cameras are amazing, and they share many things alike. So I wouldnt be disappointed, in comparison to my 40D XD

its pretty cool, but two things that would make me not do this. 1, it would probably be short term happiness and then look stupid. and 2. Removes the word professional .. and I guess 3. Its quite expensive -_-

title mentions mrk3 sensor, as does original post on the site. why the discussion of the mrk2 sensor? its not in it according to what I am reading.

not bad, but it seems like its not entirely worth 2 grand. 19 AF points and more of a plastic body? -_- smaller form factor I guess isnt so bad, but if  its looking like I rebel, then no thank you. pop up flash, I suppose is an added bonus, something you dont see in the 5D line. its been a savior here and there. But I think I will keep my eyes on the mrk3 for my next purchase.

same AF system as the 5Dmrk3 on a 7Dmrk2? hmm.. thats huge jump from the 19 from before! sounds pretty awesome, but i guess it doesnt make it close to the mrk3. just because of sensor, FF, noise, etc. im liking how these higher end APS-C cameras are offering more bang for the buck. pretty exciting, but my eyes are set on the 5Dmrk3.

Video & Movie / Re: Canon Rebel t2i - Much Music Cover contest

Very good work in places.  Need to keep an eye on the focus especially on the moving shots.

Not brilliant lighting.  The pianists face isn't very well lit, try a lower stand with some scrim perhaps?  It's great to have back and rim lighting going on, but the most important (unless for deliberate effect) is fill...  You need to get this right first and foremost.

agreed. unfortunately the lighting.. or the lack of was really with what we had to work with. random lamps and what not, but for sure I need to purchase or obtain some decent lighting to have. a 3 point lighting set up would have done much more with what we had to work with. Thanks for the input. much appreciated.

Video & Movie / Canon Rebel t2i - Much Music Cover contest

Hey everyone.

so no, this is not spam, but merely asking for some help.

but before i ask for that, let me give you a run down on what we used.

Canon rebel t2i
50mm 1.8
17- 55 3.5-5.6

3 foot slider
4 foot crane
2 tripods

adobe premiere pro and after effects. CS5.5

So basically, I have been making these videos with my buddy for my brother, who is in the much music cover contest ( for you Canadians out there that know of the network) anyway, he is in the top ten. They announce top 3 this monday , and so voting would be greatly appreciate. infinite voting. much music is having an issue with processing new videos, but one more will be up soon.

anyway, here are the links ( one youtube and the other to vote on much)

I would also like your personal thoughts on how we did video wise. I havent dont much video, so any input in improvements would help.

Caught this on a IT site...  Things to come, if you don't mind a 3 tonne camera ;-)

Billipixel Camera

Meh, my 27mpx 5D viii is enough. Don't be such gigapixel whores. Besides, I don't want to upgrade my computer to handle that much unnecessary data. Let Sony/Nikon/Samsung/Panasonic/JVC/LG/everybody pursue the ridiculous pixels.

to be fair, this would be in 20 years from now. low light performance and overall PC parts plus storage would be insane. today, my 4.5ghz quadcore (overclocked) may be impressive, but at the rate that technology grows, in 20 years, i wouldnt be surprised if we had 30ghz on a 15 core processor, and with some serious storage.

looks like their site is down? i tried the link here and nothing, then tried going to it, via google, and nothing. could be down or broken for now.
