EOS Bodies / Re: Canon smarter than we think
« on: March 29, 2012, 12:23:42 PM »
I do agree with you. The 5D always seems to show up quite a bit in the wedding world, and for them to target it seems about right. I do agree with all your other points, about the AF, the specific ISO fix.

its still a wonderful camera, and it would be a wonderful one to own :D though i am sure they also made it amazing enough to work with all other stuff, such as extreme sports.

wait.. your first camera ever, DSLR wise, and just to start learning will be the 5Dmrk3 ?!?! if i am not mistaken, and that is the truth, isnt that a bit overkill?

Seriously...
Please switch to Nikon!
Sell all you Canon-gear.
Buy a D800 and then join nikonrumors.com... log on and complaint about how you might think Canon is better.

That way we don't have to hear the complaints about a camera you haven't even tried yet.

If you HAVE a 5D3 and it $ucks badly then, please! DO tell us because it might be something wrong with it.
If not. Many of us still haven't gotten our cameras.
Many of us have been waiting years for this one, not for the Nikon-replica.

someone sounds like a serious fanboy...and your justifications are completely invalid.

as unlikely as a entry level fullframe, i couldnt see what they could do. maybe remove AF points? i dunno :S but i wouldnt mind that at the same time, as long as its more than the usual 9.

curious how fast the burst fire would be. but the fact that it would possibly not support EF lenses makes me sad :(

something tells me this may cost me my house.. hhahah

those sample images are reall nice. after the native ISO the noise is still fairly nice, the images look clean but if you look at the red columns thats where you noticed the noise the best. regardless, a lot better than my 40D!!! haha shoot, i cant even pass 400 iso :p

EOS Bodies - For Video / Re: Why the hate for video capable DSLRs?
« on: February 22, 2012, 12:11:14 PM »
when this whole idea came out of video on DSLRs i wasnt for it, just because i almost felt like it wasnt a pairing that shouldnt happen. but its evolved in such a successful manner well beyond the amateur level that i have accepted it and have even myself, shot shorts with it. its great. i shoot fully manual to begin with, so its fun and fairly easy to grasp imo

I have resized the four MTF graphs onto a single picture.  Much easier to read this way.  Looks like the new one is definitely sharper.

but how noticeable would you say these would look like side by side? when it would come to sharpness? just by reading these charts? i guess we may just have to wait for hands on reviews.:S

alright, so i refuse to drop money on some presets, and i have been trying to do this in lightroom, as they claim they do as well.

http://lightroomtutorials.blogspot.co.nz/

but how do i this? I just cant seem to do it. look at their befores and afters and its pretty damn good from the originals at times.

do you guys know how? or maybe have some presets to share? i would like to study them and see but i cannot find any results on google.

any help i would appreciate.

FF or APSC i wouldnt really see it as such a big deal when it comes to JUST shooting pictures, but if you have the money a 5DmrkII/III would be fine if you have the money. TSE lenses would prob be your best best imo, after reading what other users have suggested. TSE lenses are great for architectural correction so it doesnt look like the buildings are falling back.  looking at their options, i only see F4, 3.5 and 2.8 . 2.8 would give you that nice dramatic DOF but i have a feeling those lenses were made a while back, and the newer L series ones would be sharper. unless the old ones are still great. but even F3.5 would give you decent bokeh plus a decent slow exposure.

if you want to add flash and stuff you can always get just a 580exII or 430. (the 430 doesnt have the bouncing card -_-) or you can get some better set ups, soft boxes, etc. the possibility are endless really.
