About the camera... I pray to god every night it's not 18mpix I already use my 7D and I love it, but sometimes I wish I can use ISO6400 more confidently than I do now, and stick with APS-C. Seems that this is never happening and I'm forced to go FF with the next 5D or 3D or whatever.

Yeah I also vote for a lower mega pixel sensor. Looks like that rumor of a 14mp sensor might not be true, such a shame. Although the 7D sensor is still the best in the business on APS-C cameras, so I guess you can't complain too much. Swivel screen and video optimization should be very, very cool though.

It's good to see that this is a CR2. Hopefully the rumors are true and we finally get a fast normal prime for APS-C. Although I think 35mm will be a touch too long on Canon's 1.6x. 31 or 32mm would be just perfect. If this lens does indeed see the light of day, the question will be whether to trade in my Sigma 30mm 1.4 in favor of it - I have faith the Canon will be a performer. If it's an EF and not an EF-S, it'll be a no brainer.

Also I find it rather silly to update the 70-300IS, isn't that one kind of new anyways? Either way I've been interested in it for a long time...

lol. hilarious. i hope the swivel LCD screen hype is true. it'll make long exposures and still life studio work that much easier.

so when are we going to get confirming evidence? Recent dates for announcement were wrong. So what makes this a CR2? Did the source get a previous 'educated guess' correct? Well I work for canon(as a customer) and my rumor from a source i cannot disclose  is that the next DSLR from canon will be fully digital, have a screen, rechargeable battery, a mirror that moves up and down (i heard possibly 6 times a second), it will have removeable lens mount, will accept digital media cards, LCD screen and a processing unit. My source tells me it will be better than previous model in its aimed class, but will still cause whinging from certain canon owners. So I guess this should warrant a CR3 as my source is never wrong.

I think you made a wise move to disable comments in favor of a forum. It gives us a more robust and serious medium to discuss rumors. It's a very elegant design too! A lot of forums are just not fun to spend time in, but this one seems very smooth. Kudos!

This sounds like a pretty minor tweak in the G12 and S90. I'd like to see some more revolutionary changes though, particularly in sensor performance, video function, and even the lens department. I think the new Panny LX5 made a few smart moves.
