If Canon release a 5D 3, 35L II and a 24-70 II then I'm going to be seriously broke!

Do you really need to buy all of he new things that come out?

Ofcourse not but I've been eyeing up the 35L for a while, but if there's a replacement coming then I'll hold off.  As for the 24-70L II, my Sigma has been letting me down so I guess I do need that replacement.  I almost had it in my mindset to replace the 5D Mark II for the newer camera and that the lenses weren't coming.  However, it's difficult to steer away from that once you've decided.

I'm confident it'll carry this name but when will it come?

The main reason the new 1D has only 18mp is because of the speed of shooting. Will they opt to keep the sensor for lower production costs or go higher mp.

Maybe we'll see a full frame 7Dx with fast fps and a high mp 5d x

I really don't understand if the lines are being combined doing it like this. It doesn't make sense to drop back on the resolution for the flagship model.

I haven't watched it yet. I think at the beginning I said I've been told "no dslr in 2011", however I am personally on the fence about the statement. I'm sure there are a few things I could correct or explain better.

You're right, watched it back :)

A great interview, really enjoyed it.  Well done for doing so well from Canon Rumors.  I'm not a parent but there's nothing wrong with only having time to shoot your kid.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure at the start of the interview you said you're confident about no new SLR in 2011 and then later on you said you're on the fence???

I use this lens all the time on a 5D and it is excellent. It is my general purpose lens. I shot this entire series with this lens:-

Cracking photos!

EOS Bodies / Re: Am I the only person who isn't interested in a 5d mkIII?

Ofcourse you're not the only one.  Any 1Ds or 1D owner isn't going to be excited about a 5D Mark III as there will be certain things that will still be a downgrade.

People interested in the 5d Mark III are Mark I, Mark II and 7D owners looking for an upgrade.  Personally, I think we'll see a 1Ds upgrade before the 5D Mark III.

6D - Haha, there's no way in hell Canon would release another 9 type auto focus system - It's TOO dated!

I don't think this announcement is going to be anything decent now.

Before Canon announced the 5D Mark II there were some teasers flying around from Canon.

Bascially somebody saw the "Less pixels are better" comment from Canon and thought "hey you know what I'll submit a rumour"

Apart from the transfer speed to your PC, what benefit does this actually have.  I've got a 60mb/s sandisk and to be honest I don't notice any speed increase.

My biggest problem with sRAW is I never use it.  When I know I can have the resolution I think I need it!

Look at it from both sides people.

1. The consumer who get really excited when something like this happens, especially when a great effort is made to squash the apparent typo.  Can you blame people for pointing this out, after all are the ones that buy the cameras and support the brand.  Without us Canon etc would be nowhere.

2.  Canon or their NDA partners.  Canon could be seriously affected from a share point of view by mistakes like this.  NDA's are more important and strict than ever now with modern social networking etc. Can you blame them for trying to put a lid on it or getting serious over NDA breaches (by the way I'm not suggesting this is an NDA breach).
