I've been using the BlackRapid DR-1 (Dual strap) since it came out.  No problem at all.  One side is a gripped 5Dc with 24-70L, 580EXII.  Other side is Gripped 5Dc 70-200, 580EXII.  Never had any strap problems with this setup.  Also I think BlackRapid has some sort of money back garauntee for your camera if it breaks because of the strap as long as you buy from them or something.  May have to check, but I thought I remember reading about that.  I would recommend BlackRapid to anyone.

i recommend not fixing it yourself.  It's not impossible, but you don't want to have uneven amounts of glue dry on one side.  If it does dry unevenly, the image viewed by the mirror may be slightly distorted.  Canon will fix it for free even if it's years after warranty.  I am just speaking for myself on that matter though.  I had 2 5D classics.  1st once got fixed in 2010.  2nd one fixed in 2011.

Just got back from my daughter's wedding in Brooklyn and so glad I took my camera! She told me she wanted me to just relax and enjoy the fun, but I took the camera and got shots of the family events and pre-ceremony, when the paid photographer wasn't there. In addition, I got the shots of her coming down the aisle, which he missed completely. Said his card filled up (persnally I always change cards immediately before the ceremony). He had a 5d2 and a 5dc, so I'm not sure why he didn't switch to camera 2, perhaps it was too tight due to a telephoto lens.

WOW!  Congrats and I'm glad you were able to get CRUCIAL moments during the wedding.  Even with pre-ceremony shots, there is no way the photog should have ran out of memory.  Unless he only had a 2GB card or something, which is horrible.  That should justify a partial refund if that.

Hmmm still looking forward to specs.  Very exited though.

No viewfinder.... perhaps this is Canon's entry level Mirrorless, and a possible higher end model will have the viewfinder?  Similar to the Nikon J1 and V1.  One had a viewfinder, the other only had live view.   I only hope for this, as I pretty much 99.9% of the time do not use the LCD screen to compose a scene.  Could that work against me?  Of course.  I just am used to using my original 5D not having live view.  When I use my backup 40D, I gotta admit, it does help sometimes.

Does anyone here have experience with PWs FlexTT5 and the 580exII?  I'm looking at moving into remote ETTL, but have seen some reviews where range was severely limited due to high RF interference from the 580. 

Granted, I'd probably eventually get the AC7 RF hard-shields, just because that horizontal mount configuration is awesome for umbrellas, but I'd still like to hear some real world experiences.  Thanks!

I have 2 FlexTT5, 1 MinTT1, and 2 PlusIIs.  The PlusIIs never gave me a problem.  The 580EXII does give me problems some times on the FlexTT5s.  It comes with the "Sock" and I don't like using it, as it blocks all the controls.  That shouldn't matter as I use it for ETTL,  BUT sometimes I want a quick adjustment on the swivel head.  I ended up using my 430EXIIs and they work like a champ.  Never had a misfire yet with the 430EXIIs.  One suggestion that works better for the 580EXIIs that my friend Edmond said he uses.  Using the the Canon Off Shoe cable.  It adds some distance between the Flex and the wizard.  With that solution, he says he never had a problem since, and since its a cable, he still gets ETTL functionality.  I will try that next.

True, but it's still probably what he was referring to.

Well, it's not exactly a rangefinder even though the x100's appearance shares that retro look.

I think HDR is fine for photogs to use/do.  I do believe it's more of an "artsy" type of creativeness.  Or, sometimes you might not be able to get the shot right, and want to process later for that look you are looking for.  Granted learning to proper expose a shot is important, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do.  I think a lot of HDR has been looked at in a negative light because:
   
 -  Some people don't do it right (too much halo/glow around edges, etc) and may try to pass if off as an authentic photo (meaning taking with 1 shot)
 -  Some people are not opened to this type of photo.  Again more creative than authentic "one shot" photos.

I hope that makes sense.

I do a little HDR when I can, and I think it's fun art.  That's my take.

Agreed, a little wainting usually sees a price drop.  I remember a few years ago, when the 40D came down in price a little later.  Well worth it.
