Out of Curiousity - does Jeff show any of the pictures from his talks/gallery/workshop in a before and after?
I've seen die befor & after on his Jeff's Actions page but I'm not sure if I recognize any of them from the main gallery/best of pictures. Would e interesting to see what he saw on the day/viewfinder vs the final result.

Correct editing to not show us, but I'd imagine many would like to peak behind the curtain of his processed images.
(that and see how he works to get natural relaxed photos close up and if he'd go 1DX or 5D mkIII (I'm guessing 5DM3 is less conspicuous but he is an avid natural light guy).

Hav you thought of doing a review of the workshop when it's finished? Would be interested to hear about it having seen him speak at Focus on Imaging.

Yogurt the lens for the focal length and background co
Pressing you want, right?
A 50mm can make a great lens for Photojournalists - it can be the 1.4 or the 1.2 and not too noticeable.

Subject to camera distance and how you want to frame the subject both make a difference no?
If you're far away and want a tight crop, that's need a telephoto.
Of you're close and personal and want wider angle
24,35,50 or that range would better suit.
Once you know the zoom range or prime focal length you're golden - its just saving and buying and using time!

Every lens is subjective - what you want to do with it ultimately decides if a given lens is suitable for you

Software & Accessories / Re: 5Dm3 & BG-E6 Battery grip

The BG-E6 isn't compatible with the 5D mkiii
And the bg-E11 isn't compatible with the 5DMkII.

Different physical layout for the battery compartment for one reason I believe.

Bodies arriving at dealers by Monday 26th

And also - Canon increases their sales of 24-105mm lenses for some reason ;)

Just had my 5D III body status changed to shipped so look like they are starting to send them out from DigitalRev, that was ordered on first day they had them on their site.

Can't wait to get my hands on it, it's on 3 day DHL so should be here soon.

You're lucky and ordered from DigitalRev. Which country are you in though? it may take some shipping time for the 5D3 to get to you from HK.

I'm in UK, it usually doesn't take long about 3 days to ship stuff from them to me, they take care of tax so doesn't get stuck in customs.

Its best price for someone in UK as I got it for £2499 and from any where in UK its £3000. They give you a full uk warranty so easy £500 saved.

Although order from them now and price has gone up bit, they have a fair bit of stock as new orders deliver on  21 Mar 2012 - 23 Mar 2012, guess the benefit of them being so close to Japan.

Last time I checked their T&C the buyer had to deal with Customs?
(VAT being the £500 saving you've got if you don't have to pay it (which we'll be curious/jealous of!)

Is it a marketing ploy to get the kits out for a few days earlier than the bodies only?

Wondering how many might consider upgrading from body only to a kit?

Simonxu11 -
Did you receive any kits with the 24-105mm? Or did you just get body only for now?
I'm curious how many of each dealers might have and when as I'm considering getting the kit instead of just the body.

Ah man - a dozen 5D Mk IIIs  - all already sold by preorder to be shipped / picked up, or is that store stock?
This ks for the pictures!

Popcorn! Popcorn! Come and buy your popcorn!

In a more serious note - how do photographers give feedback to Canon through legitimate channels?
Not sure which country the OP is in to pass on an official email.

Can you file a bug report to their OS team? A feature suggestion?

As a side note - is anyone up for a "I may have argued about the 5D Mark III/1DX but I've bought one now & here's an awesome picture I took with it thread" ?

"Due in" unfortunately doesn't necessarily mean
"selling on".
Otherwise they'd be saying that on their site I'd imagine.

Kinda like their site says "from £350" Aka give us a deposit.

Strange the kit is down to be delivered to them earlier than the body only?

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: Bracketing Exposure when shooting RAW
« on: March 14, 2012, 06:51:09 PM »
Is there a way to bracket aperture? I'd be interested, to learn to use the depth of field force, and become more than a 5D MkIII padowan by innately learning what the DoF will be (esp. since lacking focus screen) - till there, could you hack the 5D II/III to bracket aperture by somehow fixing shutter speed and ISO to force the camera to use f stop to bracket?

EOS Bodies / Re: List of 5D Mark III Review Links
« on: March 14, 2012, 06:46:38 PM »
Seems they're all Previews more than Reviews so far - but it's only a few days from embargos dropping left right and centre  - the continual drip drip drip of photos and previews is just stoking all the people waiting (and the 1DX folks waiting too i'd imagine)

EOS Bodies / Re: 5D Mk III vs D800/E, is the 5D3 better at anything?
« on: March 14, 2012, 05:37:43 PM »
Is there anyone who browses both canonrumors.com and Nikon forum sites ? Do Nikonites also sweat the details of unreleased Nikon cameras? See flaws in something not yet out, and debate it furiously also from the other side?
Curious to see where Nikon forum users would take their critique of the D4, D800 etc (like canonrumors does about AF, focus screens, f8 focal points etc)

« on: March 14, 2012, 04:23:31 PM »
It's true.
It's also excluding VAT, and any other Customs & Excise charges, handling fees and curious delays in Customs whilst they send you out a letter with a number on it to pay these charges.

20% of 2,500? £500.
£2,500 + £500? Hmm....
