Tilts are a dirty word at my place. I HAD to have my tilts when I bought them and since then. Would have mounted them twice each. They are going on gumtree today I think haha

Is this what capture one and Lightroom developers have been waiting for to add tethering support?

I know this is late, but I needed a second mk3 the other day for a shoot, and the cheapest i could find was 150 at Bens Camera Hire, and Michaels, and $200 at Sun... it was an early start and late finish, so it would have cost me double that... I couldn't justify it so i bought another body....

There is a market for a reasonably priced company hiring bodies in Melb!

EOS Bodies / Shooting Tethered with 5D mk3
« on: May 15, 2012, 09:12:07 AM »
Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone has a workaround for using Capture One or LR3 or 4 with the 5dmk3 for tethered shooting?

I need to shoot tethered tomorrow and I really don't want to have to use old gear after splashing out on a couple of new bodies.

Hmm no luck with either...

Assuming the hard reset is pulling the battery and the mini battery out and replacing it so it asks for date and time etc

Not a bad lens.... i found it much better than the old 16-35mm f/2.8 L...

Would have been a steal for under 700 new.

Don't go to jb, they'll rip you off. $4500+ for body only. $5000+ for a kit with the 24-105mm. And $6000+ for a "premium" kit, which they couldnt tell me what it was. Harvey norman is similar.

Premium kit would have a 24-70 f2.8II i guess.

at those prices i'd buy a kit and sell the lens.

I will find out when hopefully i get my preorder tomorrow.

50mm lens for $356 + $6 insurance + free freight. Good deal? I am tempted but it's from DWI and I get the feeling they would resell items (namely lenses) that's been returned from customers. http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/store/product.asp?idProduct=62

Why would they do that? who does that? If it has a canon warranty it would be fine.

The 1ds mk2, 1dsmk3, 1d mk2, 1d mk3, 1d mk4 also has this combo...

I am glad it is coming to this level of camera... not just the top camera

Especially considering I had a card die on me recently... a backup would have been nice.

ISO as clean as the 5D3 & 1D4

5D Mark lll not possible, but comparable to the 1D Mark lV is more realistic. The 1D Mark lV is only about 1 step better in ISO performance than the 7D, so I don't see why Canon couldn't improve the ISO performance by 1 stop on the 7D Mark ll with current sensor and processing improvements.

The noise was my major gripe with 7D.

If magic lantern does enable this I wonder how longer videos will go with overheating? As obviously Canon have designed this based on the camera  only shooting for 30min.

Australia / 5d3 and 1dx preorders
« on: March 02, 2012, 05:06:28 AM »
Just added a 5d3 and a wireless trans to my 1dx preorder from Steve in the pro dept in teds Melb.

Excited for new kit. Their list price for the 5d3 is 4200 for some reason but they said it won't be released at that.

I went to preorder from bh but with customs and postage that added 450 to it so it wouldnt be a big saving.

Hopefully I book a job os around the release!

Toyyysss!
