EOS Bodies / Re: Canon EOS 1DX Junk camera??

Actually if you wanna have really nice pictures of your baby you need two and preferably from different manufactures cameras. We're looking at the best out there - get a 5DmIII and D800 (1DX too big). Then nice sharp lenses: Canon ts-e 17mm f/4l (so you can change perspective )and let say something like 85mm for Nikon (talk to your salesperson). You're ready to rock!
ah.. don't forget your wife with Speedlights in her's hands and all this sync with 1/250 of sec, see.

PowerShot / Re: Comparable Camera to the Sony RX100

This is really great little camera and pretty robust.
My lovely wife dropped three days old rx100 in Paris on sidewalk and it's working well, despite big left side deformation. It is relatively heavy for compact sized camera.
Pictures I'm posting are taken by my wife and more likely in auto settings.

Software & Accessories / Re: Manfrotto 055 vs 190, 498 vs 496

I've owned 055XPROB and 498RC2 head, and have to say that 055 is very good sturdy tripod.
Two remarks: it is heavy (it could be good or bad, depends of your use) and fairly big.
Combine with the 498RC2 head and 7D I did not have to extend the central column; in some cases even it was little bit on the high side. Something I did not really like it. I'm 182 cm or 6' tall.
498RC2 is good head and, as it has been said, for 70 degrees you have to lock it about 65 degrees to obtain correct angle.
Eventually I've sold 055 and got 190CXPRO3 (smaller and lighter = portable) with photo/video MH055M8-Q5 head.
If I did not get photo/video head I'd probably go with MH055M0-Q2 head. Its cost little bit more but you have more satisfaction at the end of the day.

What about minimum advertised pricing (MAP)?

This is Amazon's answer to Canon's min resale prices policy.
What Canon can do to the biggest retailer of the world?
