Of topic: Why does the 5D X mockup have the top assembly from a 1D? Weird.

Because they're shooting for 1D weather sealing with the rumors, and removing the mode dial is required for that.

It says "less weather sealing"

Right, but the 5D X took over the rumors of the high megapixel non-integrated gripped pro body. This new cheap full frame would probably not be a 5D anything but a new line.

I received mine from Amazon around March 25th. I ordered body only at 2am the night of the announcement. So yeah, they def put some out but seem to have dried up since.

I liked the D10. It looked goofy but I really enjoyed it in part because of the unique look. I haven't had any experience with the D20 yet, but I just don't like the aesthetics of it. Plus F/3.9? Seriously? Olympus just announced a new tough cam for 50 dollars more with a lens that starts at F/2.0 and I'm really thinking of picking it up. I usually like to stay in one family, and I know it's a bit bulkier than an S100, but if I bought the Olympus I wouldn't have to buy both the S and D (the aperture is a big factor to me.) What do you guys think? Did the D20 end up being too little too late?

If you haven't purchased the D20 yet, did you see the new Olympus TG-1iHS announced just now? It starts at F/2.0, and that is worth not having a canon when compared to the D20, to me. I'd like very much to have all Canons, but both aesthetically and feature-wise, the Olympus seems head and shoulders above the Canon. Check it out, http://amzn.to/IVdJTF

If I am not mistaking the EOS 5D3 has an integrated wireless module to trigger remote 600EX-RT flashes.
Can anyone confirm this and is there someone who has tested this functionality?

Sorry, but you are mistaken - the 5DIII does not have the ability to directly trigger flashes wirelessly.

I really wish it did.. I'd jump on the new flash so much faster if I didn't have to buy the trigger to use it remotely. From a consumer standpoint I just can't justify both for an off camera flash. The price of the flash alone from amazon has dropped to 608, though, and that was enough to make me jump on it. http://amzn.to/Jrhc9R

CR guy is now saying late May. It sucks that just about everything Canon is releasing this year is getting delayed, but I'm sure glad one particular product was right on time.

I read a fair amount of responses, but skimmed over the novels... I shoot RAW to CF and JPEG to SD. Depending on use the JPEG is either enough, or good enough for an initial review to decide which RAW of a series to go straight to.

Amazon just dropped the price of the grip to 358.20. Seemingly random price, I know. But there it is for anyone going the amazon route. They also finally dropped the price on the gps receiver to 278.65.

That is exactly my thought process. I personally ordered as soon as it went up hoping they'd adjust the price to msrp. So I'm hoping I'll not have to wait long.

Some people detest Amazon for how the MkIII was handled, and then others (such as myself) stay loyal. I've never had an issue with Amazon and will gladly wait a month or two for the grip if it means I get the first-hand tried and true excellent service from amazon that I've come to expect. I also don't see near the level of demand for the grip and can't see it being to difficult to acquire compared to the 5D body.

And with Amazon, they had the MSRP for so long, that the people that did want the grip ordered it from a lot of other places instead of Amazon.  So they probably did not get as many orders for it.  I ordered from them once it dropped to $358 because I had gift cards and points.

Obviously, it's being recalled because the RRS camera plate doesn't fit properly.   

Is this a fact? I have ordered one - or are you just kidding?

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the point of a non-L camera plate? It just seems to be a quarter inch riser for the tripod, to me.

For me it's basically a really well built arca-swiss quick release plate. I like that there is the no-twist feature vs other standard quick release plates that are just a piece of square or rectangular metal. Anyone else with me on this?

I actually didn't really inspect the pictures past the bottom of the plate, it seemed to me that there was another tripod thread on the bottom of the plate. I fully retract my question and am now interested. Thanks for your response!

The price of the grip was lowered on Amazon recently, so your order will be updated to reflect the new price. +1 as far as hearing late April. I'd bet on soon enough to make you appreciate it that much more once you get it, but not so long as to deter you from going out and still shooting with your new camera.
