Speedlites, Printers, Accessories / 9500 Printer showing Error code 9100 HELP HELP HELP

Does any one know what error code 9100 is & how to reset it on a canon 9500 printer. It took the paper in to the printer on the single sheet tray & started to print & then the blue on/off light flashed twice along with the orange light which flashes 10 or 12 times & then goes throughout the same sequence again. I've tried truing it off and unplugged it from the mains supply but it still does the same. The paper is locked down in the printer like its ready to print.
any ideas & help would be appreciated. THANKS

« on: April 04, 2013, 05:03:17 PM »I spent hours and hours trying to get it to work consistently on my PC and my 24-70L. Part of it was me, but I finally got it going.
There were no issues with the main AFMA portion, I was trying the extra tools like the testing of each AF point, the dust detection, the aperture test, repeatability, etc.
Eventually, I got them all run on my laptop, but my desktop did not like it. Its getting old, and might have some issues.
I'd like to spend more time and do it more carefully, but after running the wide and telephoto AFMA tests three times with the same results, I'm happy. First, I need to reread the manual. The AF point test seemed to vary, I think that I wasn't properly setup.
I will be looking at my images closely just to make sure everything is sharp.
So are you saying its difficult to set up? as I too need to check AFMA on a 24-70 Mk2 & a 70-200 f2.8 Mk 2 lens, as well as some primes.

Anyone know if this NOW works 100% OK on The Mac using Mountain Lion 10.8.3? & Snow Leopard. And more importantly is it any good? I need to set up the len's on a EOS 1Dmk4 & EOS 1DX. Any help or advice much appreciated.

« on: October 24, 2012, 01:09:57 PM »There is more to this blinking than is normal. My wife's IDX performs perfectly & just blinks once when focus is achieved.
Mine however blinks constantly, less brightly & even when I don't have my finger on the shutter button.
Speed, (or others), any word back from Canon on the erratic/dimmed blinking of the focus points? You mentioned you sent them an email, and I am experiencing the same thing. Also, anyone else experiencing this phenomenon?
Yes mine does that, to me whats particular annoying is that it continues to blink even when the AF-ON button is released.

Actually, with display during focus set to off but servo illumination on, the red light flashes anyway, but no points are illuminated. That seems wrong, although that may be intentional, Canon might think we want the grid display to flash or something...
Neuro, It does seem strange to me that it was not working with my original settings, BUT it now is having reset them back just out if interest.
Thank you for your help Neuro. I did not know re the pushing the Q button gave other options, but it was already set to illuminated (normal). Maybe I set it when I originally got the camera? ( I do read the manuals quite throughly when I first get hold of a new camera, but being 66 my memory is not that good any more. (senior moments).

I’ve just downloaded the new firmware version 1.1.1 & the auto focus point is still black in AI Servo? But still flashes red in one shot. Any ideas.

Erm...did you turn it on in the settings? AI Servo point illumination is off by default.
Yes its was turned on, I think I’ve now sorted it AF menu5, option No 2, I’ve selected the first option (Selected constant) & it now seems to be working, continually flashing. But I’m not 100% convinced that this was the problem as I’ve now set it back to all constant as I think that where it was before & it now works ok there? Strange.
NB if I select option 3 (selected pre-AF focused) or 4 (selected focused) then the AF point flashes once & then disappears. Is this correct?

Yes I know what you mean with the LED lighting; also what I find even worse is the use of smoke machines. At the bigger festivals / gigs its the first 3 songs of any act & no flash so you have to be very quick.
What I do now is take individual photos of the main members of the band/group waiting for the lights to change until something comes up that’s usable. Failing that, then its convert everything to black & white & you then you might have something that’s hopefully usable. I also switch to spot metering a lot of the time.
With your first 2 photo’s I personally would just crop them for the singer, the bass player has a microphone in front of him (totally unusable in IMHO) & like you have said the drummer & the piano player the highlights are blown.
For me personally the noise/grain in rock group photos does not bother me in the slightest in fact I think it can add to the atmosphere of the photo. (But that’s just my opinion). I quite happily shoot at anywhere between 4000- 16,000 ISO.
Hope that’s of some help but I suspect other photographers do things totally different to what I do.

The thing now is that with modern SLR digital cameras & knowledge of computer editing software almost anyone can take a reasonable photo.
BUT almost everyone I know never ever prints anything or vary rarely.
For me photography has always been & always will be about handling real prints & bits of paper.
Show anyone a photo on a computer screen & 99.99% of the time they will never ever buy it (wedding photography being the exception). BUT show them a real print something tactile that they can handle & then you have a more that reasonable chance of selling it.
I have a reasonable portfolio of old stuff from the 60’s & 70’s that continually sells very well. Also my more modern stuff sells quite well, simply because as I said its actually printed & mounted.
But hay ho what do I know, I’m just an old git of 66.
