I understand the desire for a top zipper, I'm with you. That being said- the bag I got doesn't have one but I love it.
Check out timbuk2.com.  They are all about messenger bags but they sell a really very good camera insert.  The thing is you can design your own bag. I have 7d (soon 5D MIII), 24-70mm and 24-104mm, flash, EVF other bits and pieces.  I did add More padded dividers from an old Lowepro.  The medium bag will do, it will be Full, but if its just those items you listed... it will fit.  Oh and water proof too.

Just Cool 8)

Wow. Much bigger question then I thought :o

64
So its not like I dreamed this number up.  But it does seem to be a bit more complicated of a question.

I find my MP thirst is quenched a bit with at least one person, thanks  mb66energy, having the breakdown of how to go about thinking about it. And Canon-F1, having read 8-45mp, as least the 8 mp floor is somewhat established given what I think I remembered of 8Mp being the "standard or goal".

Interested to read others recollections or thoughts.  Or facts ;)

65
A long time ago I thought I remembered, reading or hearing, that 8MP was the goal or benchmark. That at 8MP this was the number that would be most analogous to film.

What IS the MP count- or is the question more complicated then this?

EOS Bodies / Re: Canon 5D Mark III preproduction models

"Tell us what alternate sensors they tested for the D1 X, the 1D MK IV, the 5D MK II, the 7D, or any of the other dozen or more models.  Give us a link to the info."

Mt Spokane Photography, This is the point, to speculate, not to have any hard info.

I'm not trying to call you out here but your tone seems so final:

"I doubt that you will ever know what they tested.  Do you know anything about testing of any previous model?  It never is revealed because it doesn't matter."

I was just playing the speculation game with hippoeater.

I think this is a case of: New info withdrawal and I'm Jonesing big time too.
I think maybe Mt Spokane Photography might be wrong on this one.  I say this because of the rumored split in the 5D II world- 5D III and 5DX. There could be a couple of bodies still floating around out there.
I like to think there are two higher MP cams being tested.  4K perhaps?  We all need bigger faster computers and processors to deal reasonably with all the data.
But to your point hippo eater, it's fun to speculate in the absents of new News. :)

Diditalrevtv.com has a hands on video with 1600-highest iso compared to M II. yes its video of pictures but you get an idea of the improvements.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: Why all the hate for still camers?
« on: February 29, 2012, 04:33:06 PM »
So best I can figure is that the "Haters" feel that the video gets in the way of, or crowds out pure photo functionality.

BULL S#?T! By this logic we should be arguing over 100MP FF cameras with DR of like 40 and a useable iso up to 5,000,000.  ???  Come on this is not a rob Peter to pay Paul scenario.

5D M II brought an entire new audience to the DSLR market.  Raise the buyer volume and it helps keep the price down.  You are't paying any extra for having video that you don't use.

EOS Bodies - For Video / Re: Why the hate for video capable DSLRs?
« on: February 28, 2012, 01:19:17 AM »
Sounds like all you video haters should have bought a Kodak.... oh right they all but went out of business, why? They hung on too hard to film and I think Im right on this they never did an HDDSLR.
Come on folks this is where the market is - Embrace technology

"And they are Plastic ......." Sure the 7D is plastic too ;) its not, come on the 60D articulating screens are for family video, you can't get reliable focus from that thing.

Begin the Smiting  8)

With respect to the photo purists out there... and with humility I ask Mr. Cruze -  What kind of video does it do? 4:2:2, H.264?
The headphone port has me very excited.
Please understand video is my job and stills are my hobby/passion.
I'm hoping this 5D III does both well.  And canon needed to make things easier on us video guys, for example the headphone jack and maybe an on/off for the AGC?

I'll start wincing and you all start the Smiting ;)

It easily fits my needs for photography, but I use my DSLR for video as well and I want something more than the standard 1080p @ 30/24 and 720p @ 60 fps.  It's not exactly in my budget to buy a Phantom Flex or a RED One so getting that 120 fps isn't very easy for me haha.

+1!  Look, when I get this camera it will be a step up from my 7D and for Photos, I like the 7D. So as far as "photography needs"? Well, having this camera? I think I will feel as if I've arrived 8)
But the video (H.264) is a nightmare to work with in a world of fast turnaround.  Jello effect, digital artifacts and the dreaded moire! These can be minimized and "fixed" in post but, who has the time?
Some of us, and I believe many more to come, are looking to this for more run and gun applications: TV Magazine style. Documentary. And if you all looked close, a lot of the footage shot at the Occupy events was shot on DSLRs and the footage looked great, much better then the NEWS cameras out there (on their 1/2", or well, 2/3" chip if they are lucky)... this brings me to audio, don't get me started on audio... and no a digital recorder will not do, too much time syncing audio and too dam many connections and switches to miss, I run two wireless lavs and a camera mic, and only two channels, ok two channels I can deal with.  I'm hanging enough stuff on my camera rig as it is: wireless receiver, BeachTek, Camera light, follow focus, EVF.........  In the News TV Magazine world video and audio should live together.  I'm just saying'

So I understand if some of the purely Photography "photogs" out there are thinking "Dude its a still camera!!! leave it alone you video jockey!"  I know, I know, its just that they put sutcha' nice big sensor in that box and the things you can do with the lenses.... come on you know its addictive and its just that I want more.

"I find the CF+SD card choice a bit odd.  IMO, 2 CF slots makes more sense for camera in 5D family.  It makes even more sense to include the new XQD card format - which has size similar to SD, but thickness of CF.   This would be paving the way to use the latest card technology. "

This "paving the way" Point is VERY interesting. I'm coming to this from a video point of view and the getting of the info on to the card is the bottleneck. The XQD is fast. Hummmm
