Finding a place that will allow me to print 36X24 and give me control over the final look is turning out to be a huge problem. Does anyone have any suggestions about a good solution?  I'm looking to spend no more than $5K.

The Canon 100mm Macro loves the BMCC (and vice versa).

Street & City / Jon Rafman's work: Unedited or not?

Alright sleuths, can any of you prove that some of his work has been edited in post(other than resizing)?

Some of them looks like they blatantly used Instagram filters.

Video & Movie / The Blizzard of 2013 Time Lapse
« on: February 09, 2013, 11:04:08 PM »

I did a time lapse of the effects of the blizzard at Lechmere Station in Cambridge, MA from 10am to 6pm.

This was done using relatively short exposures taken every 30 seconds. Normally i'd try and stick to a 180 degree shutter angle, but to do so in this situation would have blurred the scene because of the sheets of snow.

I used a 5D mkii shooting sraw on a 100mm 2.8L Macro. Iso ranging from 100-3200, F-stop: 11-7.1 . I exported the video from Lightroom 3 using custom slideshow preferences.

Feel free to offer constructive criticism (or even just S___ talk since i'm usually hypercritical of everything).

Note: you should download the original MP4 to get the preferred viewing experience.

EOS Bodies - For Video / 5D3 vs. BMC
« on: November 14, 2012, 08:40:47 AM »

Interesting comparison of the BMC with the 5D3.  The BMC really shows a huge improvement in highlight gradation. Plus with RAW you can get the perfect exposure every time.  The big downfall appears to be the workflow, as it is very GPU intensive.

Third Party Manufacturers / New RED One Price

$4000 for something that was used to shoot major Hollywood productions. I thought it was a joke until I went to their website.

Why are you forcing people with 200+ posts to get their topics reviewed? Are you trying to lose members?

EOS Bodies - For Video / FS700

Here's a decent review of the FS700 from Philip Bloom:

It's sad the camera still has a lower bit-rate than the 5dmkii. Looks like they didn't want to mess with F3 market.

EOS Bodies - For Video / Lighting Kit
« on: May 14, 2012, 01:47:50 PM »
I'm looking to upgrade my lighting for video for shooting with my 5D. I currently use 3-500watt tungsten lights. Anyone with any bright(apologies for the pun) ideas?

Looking to spend between $1000-2000(US)

They got Jeff Cronenweth, David Fincher's DP, who uses RED to play with it.  Maybe he got sick of RED's performance in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.  He's a master, it'd be sweet if Canon could convert him.
