What did (maybe how does) Canon use to process all their RAW files during testing then?

Here’s my 2p worth’s prediction…… the replacement for the 7D, whatever it’s nomenclature will have f8 max app focusing.

What’s CR2 - Mirrorless Announcement and/or New Full Frame? two new cameras, shouldn’t that be two separate CR2’s or maybe one mirrorless full frame EF!! Leica watch your back wohoo  If it’s a DSLR then forget the ‘entry level’ tag I still believe there is space for an amateur enthusiasts stills photographers FF, spec as 60D (9 cross-type AF points) lets call it a 6D

EOS Bodies / Re: Comparometer! 5D mkiii vs your current camera

Interesting comparometer, just compared the 550D to 5Dmkiii, that lil ol 550 really doesn’t do to bad up to 800 given sensor size and price difference. I assume pictures are taken with their respective kit lenses? Its making me think more and more about getting a 60D and good bit of glass and sod it all…. oh wait a new rebel is just round the corner…… wait maybe a new 7D…… wait…… bugger

Right…. about option 5 (In december 2012 when the world finally ends)

There have been about 514 leap years since Canon (Caesar) created them in 45BC. without the extra day every 4 years, so e.g. on the 5th of march 2010 would actually have been July 28th 2013… so Nikon (Mayan) calendar did not account for the leap year. so technically the world has already ended. Which definitively proves that that the 5Dx is the best Camera to never be produced…… ever……. RIGHT

Hi,

http://www.thelensdoctor.co.uk/page14.html

I use this on on 24, 28, 35, 50, 200 FDs and it works really well although I find corner sharpness wanting though, I believe that may be the lenses. Centre sharpness is excellent on them all. Wish I still had my 100!

Non of them are a patch on the current equivalents of course  ;)

The price of $3500 would be justified to me if...

* there were 13 or more stops of DR in the photos and nothing less
* there was 1 (preferably 2) or more stops of improvement in signal to noise from ISO 100 through to ISO 6400
* USB 3.0
* clean HDMI out at 1080i or better
* better sealing on the buttons, etc, to keep out dust and moisture

As long as the number of megapixels was at least the same as the 5D Mark II, I'm not particularly concerned.

What I want is better quality photos for pulling out detail from dark regions and less noise.

Dilbert says it all for me (in RAW photos) Everything else is ‘nice to have’ (for me) that’s why I’m waiting on proper analysis before I decide. (the OP doesn’t have that as one of the options)

PS thanks for the smite WTF!!!

EOS Bodies / Re: Who's in for a trip to the US ?
« on: March 08, 2012, 08:36:06 AM »
it will, you can take a card out of a 1D and put it in a 5D and view the raws or vise versa, or even an SD card from a 1D and view it on a rebel

Never had to do that before so it's just a curiosity, I assume that I wouldn't be able to view 1DX Raws on my old Rebel without a firmware update? and that won't happen.

Is it not the case that all lenses choosen as 'kit' have IS therefore their choice would be fairly limited?

EOS Bodies / Re: Nikon D800 vs Canon 5d3 sample images.

Hi, a bit off topic but I didn’t want to start a new just for this. There was a post and link given at some point in the mêlée pre 02/03 to a web site where the guy compared Canon & Nikon sensors when the same image is pushed. Was a photo looking out a window so very high DR. Can anyone help me with that link again please?
