well spokane did not notice the error... so all is fine and adobe and all who have an issue are wrong. 

Thanks to all for your efforts in tracking down and reporting this issue. The bug was introduced via a late-in-the-cycle change to export performance and was unfortunately missed by our testing. We were able to reproduce the issue in-house, a bug was logged, and the fix will be in the next release.

it has some JPG export bugs.
makes it useless for me right now.

i shoot raw but for proofs and web i need JPG.

look at the adobe lightroom forum for more infos.

i stick to LR 4 until they fixed the usual bugs they introduce with a full release.
v5.2 will maybe worth an upgrade... 

How about a link.  There are thousands of posts on the Adobe forum, but none I could find saying the jpeg issue was there for the released version.  Lots of them for the beta.

well it´s on top of the forum as LR 5 was just released today. 

and if someone is not able to find the ADOBE LR forum.. what does he do on a computer?

The third party grips have a reputation of lasting from 3-6 months, depending on use.  Just buy 10 of them and you'll be set for 3 years.

sources for such a bold claim?

i would love you write not such biased nonsense all the time about third party gear, you propably have never used yourself or any experience with.

i bought my 5D MK2 over 4 years ago and the BG grip i bought for it is still absolutely fine.
the phottix BG for my 550D is from 2010 and the 550D is my cheap "throw around" camera.
the BG is also still absolutely fine.
 
and im not a weekend shooter....

i have phottix/delamax BG for my cameras.
would buy them again anytime.

they work and cost 1/4 of the canon originals.

as for batterys... depends on the battery.

i have a few "weiss" and other third party batterys and no problems.
thought they have only 80% of the capacity but they cost only 1/3 of the canon originals.

Since you have a 60D, don't even consider the 16-35L, get a 17-55 if you need f/2.8.   It is much better on FF than a crop.

huh?
that reads as if you advice to use the 17-55mm f2.8 on a FF body.

from a image quality point of view the 16-35mm performs better on a Crop then on a FF body.
because the not so good borders are out of the image circle on a Crop body.

as it´s not really better optically then the 17-40mm f4 it´s not worth it for me, as i don´t use f2.8 much in that focal length range.

above f5.6 i see no difference.

i have them both... but only because i bought the 16-35mm II first and then i needed a second lens for my other bodys.

for serious printing, you need some 1000$ or so

if A3+ is enough for someones need, a EPSON R2880 is a great printer.

i have a R2880 and a R3880. most people will see no difference in color prints.
for really great B&W i prefer the R3880.

you can make really good prints today, who are as good a the best professionell prints 5 years ago, with a 500-600 euro printer.

what really makes it expensive is good PAPER. 
120-180 euro for 25 pieces of fineart paper.

I juste want to start a small business selling to family friend and people they know and maybe have a larger audience after who knows It's all about travel photography

it´s sounds easy to make money with printing.. first.
but make sure you know people who are willing to pay for your (hopefully) good quality prints.

family and friends are not a good base for a business. trust me i was there...
you can sell a few.. but "wall space" is limited with such a relative small group.

and you can get posters for 3-5$ from internet printing companys.

selling fineart prints and make a profit, is not that easy......

whenever i read about f1.x aperture lenses and focusing problems my first thought is "LAYER 8 error".

i have no problems with my sigma 35mm f1.4.
it is my first sigma after years and i don´t regret buying it.

the new line of sigma lenses seem to be a great improvement.

the numbers are nonsense, the whole article misleading.
no word about read noise, A/D performance etc.

ISO/Noise is affected by more then how many photons you can catch.

and the sensor captures photons that don´t belong to visible light too (that is part of how they get such high sensitivity).

no word about how this will work for us photographer and "photography" when you capture IR and UV light.

Its a article written for the general public.  PR people are trained to write to a third grade level.

there must be a graphene lobby somewhere.

all problems will be solved thanks to graphene... some day.
for 10 years i read articles about graphene and how great it is.

Isn't one of the possible application that you can (apparently) have a large DOF with wider apertures? Foreground to background sharp without having to stop down to f/11 or higher?

I think you're going a bit far in the other direction saying it's complete crap. It's certainly not good until stopped down.

but even stopped down the quality is not worth the money.
it´s usable stopped down.

and i really don´t want to see the borders when the center region is so bad already.

captured crops were taken from a section of the frame about 1/3 of the distance from the center to the full frame corner – still within what should be the sweet spot of the image circle

The Canon option delivers very noticeably better image quality – it as sharp at f/3.5 as the Samyang is at any aperture in this comparison.

and don´t get me started about the bokeh or distortions. 

And unfortunately, this lens has more than an average amount of distortion (barrel) for a prime lens. Distortion can be corrected during post processing, but it is a pixel-level-destructive/image quality-degrading process.

If you are correcting for lens distortion, you can also correct perspective distortion at the same time. This all devalues having the shift feature in the first place.

i mean come on.. this is a prime lens, no IS, no AF, no electronics.... you could think they get the optics right for 900 euro. does not have to be outstanding but at least decent.

ok ok.. i payed 2000 euro for my canon TS lens.
not cheap sure.. but i think when you need a TS lens then you better buy a good one.
i sure would not be happy with the samyang.. not even for 700 euro.

I have never used my 24 tse wider than F11 and can't really imagine a need to so

well you are only one person ... a very egocentric world view you have or you really lack imagination.   

it's a very specialized lens, designed for architectural purposes which require large depths of field.

many photographer use it especially to REDUCE or PLAY with DOF.

i love my canon 24mm TS II for wedding photos with narrow DOF.
and for landscape photos with as much DOF as i can get.

don´t limit yourself because you think a lens is made for a specific purpose.

but the samyang IQ is crap... i don´t know who will pay 900 euro for this lens.
everyone would be doing better buying a used canon 24mm TS I.
