Software & Accessories / Gimbal Head: Wimberley Vs Jobu
« on: April 21, 2014, 03:45:09 PM »
Hi guys
I would like to have your feedbacks on gimbal tripod head.

To support BIG WHITE, which Gimbal head you guys use? Any third party(low cost) out there?

At this time, I'm leaning to Wimberley + Wimberley - P10 Quick Release Plate: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/404536-REG/Wimberley_WH_200_Gimbal_Type_Tripod_Head.html

Here is one review with Fuji camera: http://www.aps-photo.com/2014/04/rokinon-12mm-f2-0-for-x-mount-a-first-look/

19mm equivalent to FF, which I think is very nice focal lenght for landscape.

FF + same body style like: X100s, XT-1, or X-e2 = count me in. I LOVE the look, feel and all layouts from x100s. FF + UWA + 35 or 50mm...I'm good to go ::)

Lenses / Canon 24-70 II + 70-200 f2.8 IS II is one GREAT combo

Last Jan, I got a chance to be a primary photographer to shoot Tet celebration http://www.tetvietnamsj.com/ at Saint Columban Church. It’s a small private catholic school.

Long story short, the Vietnamese parents did an outstanding job organizing the Tet celebration. They got strong supports from school principle and all the teachers.

As always, I brought all the gear I have including the 400mm f2.8 IS II to the event. I took about 700ish photos.
1.   85% of the photos taken with 24-70 II + 70-200 f2.8 IS II combo
2.   15%  taken with 50L + 135L combo

Shooting with 2 bodies including 24-70 II + 70-200 f2.8 IS II combo is so much easy. Missing shots is almost impossible. I’m glad I pulled trigger on second 5D III.

Here is the link of Tet celebration: http://albums.phanfare.com/isolated/qT0bsDqk/1/6425720#imageID=208599092  These are just preparation photos. There are so much more photos that I wish I can share with CR community – kids getting red envelop, dragon dances etc…but I must respect the parents & students privacy.

Bottom line is: 24-70 II + 70-200 f2.8 IS II is one GREAT combo

I'll go first....:)

Last Nov I posted this: http://www.canonrumors.com/forum/index.php/topic,18158.0.html

Today, I received an email from the same Coach offered me $1,100 CASH to shoot 3 games of Youth Soccer Leagues.

I spoke with him on the phone and he clearly wanted:

1. Me to be at the field for no more than 3hrs to cover each game -Total of 9hrs for 3 games.
2. He is fine with JPEG files, since he only wants action shots - boys running, kicking ball etcs...
3. He wants all photos to transfer to his PC right-after-each game and all photos must be delete from camera(s).

I told him, I'm not interested. But willing to deliver a message to CR.

Shoot me an email if you interested @ vdka777@yahoo.com   Edit: The gig has been taken by one of our CR member.

Software & Accessories / Rolling Case to fit all my camera gear
« on: December 01, 2013, 01:02:13 AM »
I'm currently using Lowepro Pro Roller x200 case(http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/611107-REG/Lowepro_LP36033_PWW_Pro_Roller_x200_Case.html). However, with my recent purchase Canon 300mm f2.8 IS II the x200 is no longer can support 300mm. My idea is to keep all cameras and lenses in one bag, so I can take with me to any events.

I'm now thinking the big daddy Think Tank Photo Logistics Manager 30 - Rolling Gear Case: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/967310-REG/think_tank_photo_576_30_high_volume_rolling.html
