Lenses / Polarizing vs ND filter Europe trip.
« on: March 11, 2013, 05:53:28 PM »
Hi all,  I'm wondering if it's worth it to buy one or another of these 2 filter types for a 2 months Europe trip. I mean for landscapes and what would be the benefits of a Polarizing versus the ND etc. It would be a 82mm filter (tamron 24-70 VC ).. Thank you!

From someone who knows, let me say that you can't effectively use a 60D for sports. You could set it someplace ahead of the action and perhaps get one frame if you practiced. That's if you were lucky.

I respectfully disagree with this, I have a 60D and I've shot many football and hockey games, also people running and never had a problem  with the autofocus even in very poorly light environments.. I simply don't understand why you say that. Ok you have the 1dx but don't compare apples and oranges.. 7d is better for sports indeed, but if you master your camera, you do get the shots when it count. 60D is a great camera but for now I would wait to buy a new aps-c camera..

This post is too funny. I just posted something similar the other day with the announcement of the Sigma 120-300mm!  I want to see the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L II w/1.4X go up against that Sigma. Put all three in one review and it would be very interesting to see all of the results!!!!!!! (In this case I am betting on the Canon kickin some %&@!!!!!!

8-16 sigma, a lot of distortion in the corners at 8mm , but sooooooooooooooooooo wide so when taking pictures of shooting stars you can't miss one in the direction the lens is

Canon General / Camera insurance for Canadians (Travel)
« on: December 10, 2012, 05:31:18 PM »
I can't find any company with more than 500$ insurance on camera(electronic) stuff around the globe (I will travel to Europe) (theft, loss etc ).. I'm kind of worried about this because I will bring for about 6000$ in gear . Is there someone who can help me with this? Thank you
I'm from Quebec, Canada so I don't think a USA insurance can cover me..
