I use the Acratech 2179 plate, http://www.acratech.net/quick-release-plates/2179. With it mounted it is possible to open the battery chamber, and it have a great fitting to the camera.

Lenses / Re: What was your first L lens?

The 70-200/4L, this was one the main reasons why I switched from Nikon to Canon.

Wow... I really don't get Canon's pricing, especially at today's exchange rates.

The EF 16-35L F4 is $1550 USD here in Japan
and the EF-S is $460

America will remain the cheapest place to get lenses.

Same for UK - pounds for dollars - with the UK price £1199 and £299, whilst the exchange rate is 1.6x
That isn't unusual with manufacturers coming up with all manner of excuses - some valid - as to why they cost more in the UK and EU than the US or Asia.

But then you compare the launch prices of the white SL1/100D also announced today for the US.  $749 in the US, but only £499 in the UK.

In Sweden the new 16-35/4L IS is introduced at 10390 SEK, that is $1504.75...

I can't make out the filter diameter of that 16-35 F/4L IS, but I've got my fingers crossed for 77mm.   :D

I think it looks like 77mm!  ;D

The same source also says a new 16-35 f/4 wide angle with IS is also on tap and would be quite pricey.

This lens is what I have been waiting for, if it is sharp all over... My guess for a price, if it is rumoured to be pricey is around $1500-2000...  :'(

EOS Bodies / Re: When Does the Year of the Lens Start?
« on: May 02, 2014, 10:31:16 AM »
Come on now! We have been through this before.... 2014 is the year of the LENS. Not the year of the lenses, the year of the lens.... singular!

Expect one lens release.
yes. And it will be THE lens, like in mother of all lenses  :o

Probably will the Year of the Lens be a white version of the present 50/1.8... Else I hope for an updated version of the 17-40/4L.

Software & Accessories / Re: Waterproof bag/case options?
« on: February 18, 2014, 11:45:34 AM »
I recommend the Peli Storm, http://peli.com/en/storm_cases/all/all, cases. They are lighter compared to the original Peli and have the best latch of any hard case. I have both the iM2050 and iM2300.

i think it´s obvious that the camera has a flash. :)

I agree, if you look close to the front picture, it looks like a flash release level on the camera side. And if you look at the back picture, it looks like a part of the top of the camera is "loose".
