EOS Bodies / Is there an advantage to still having a mirror on a dslr

I keep reading everywhere that mirrorless cameras are awesome. That coupled with P&S released at CES with the same size sensor as my kiss x4, is there anything you lose from going to a mirrorless system?  To reiterate, would a mirrorless Kiss x4 just be better than a mirrored kiss x4?

Lenses / CES 2012 announced lens availability

I totally know that I'm putting the carriage before the horse, but any lens that are announced at CES 2012, when do you think they would be available?  (Hoping for a 35mm 1.4L mkII out by valentine's day for a trip to iceland)

Japan / Getting USA warranty Lens serviced in Japan

I dropped my 10-22mm lens that I just got a few months ago and it seems the focusing on the right hand side of the lens is completely off.  Was wondering two things, the first is if this would be covered under the normal warranty because I dropped.  Secondly, would the canon repair shop honor a USA warranty here in Japan or will I have to send it back to the USA to get repaired?
