Since 30 years I have carried my stuff nearly everywhere.
Beaches, mountains, small planes, sailing boats. Never felt unsecure, just thought a few seconds about safety (belt wrapped around my hand, will there be drops of salty water...), but then you should forget this and simply make pictures.
Never had a problem.

Sounds like an advertisment, but: just do it!

I have and use them.

If I had to choose only one, it would be the 70-200.
Yes, the IS is very good. Never believed before this could be so helpful.

Make a "Calibration". This means: one time load the battery, till its full, then use it, till the camera shuts down after shots, doesnt matter with or without liveview, making video etc.
So the camera "know" the capacity.
Then the percentage of remainig power should be more exact.

But- as mentionend before- Lion cells dont like to be loaded full or empty, they like to be between 40 and 80% (loads of information is on the net).

A 1000 shots with one load is ok, I think.

Without looking at the shot on the LCD: over 1000 shot minimum. With looking at every shot, depends how long btw, 500 apr.
Loading: keep a Lion- accu between 40 and 80%, this is its comfort zone.

I own (a license) for PS CS6.
I dont like the monthly fee, because I want to decide if I need the latest s* or not.

Like someone mentioned before: its like Canon forces you to have the latest model.
(I´m still happy with my 1D4).
And I want to decide to pay the package once when I want.

Its not the money, I have enough. I simply dont like to be pushed in the "rental" path.

My 2 €- cents.

Yes to the cameras, no to the humans. This is me and my errors, and the erratic behaviour of humans, growing logarithmic with their number.
Closed (and espacially halfclosed) are the classic non- keepers.

Owning two "serious" bodies (5d3, 1d4) the Sony RX100 is a kind of backup and more: its more stealthy.
Using this little piece reduces the attention sometimes significantly.
Cellphone: no.

For events  I would take the 35L because of the wider angle.
Depends how close you are and your style of shooting.

I have the Lowepro 75 and the Thinktank 50 v2.
The biggest advantage of the TT is the possibity to unzip an extension, so a 70-200 fits with hood not reversed.
The Lowepro has more space for extras and the better cushion.
