Canon General / Re: Random Thoughts

Make sure the color space on your computer matches the color space you're using in your cameras. Also make sure the color space in your editing software matches all the above as well. For instance, we use Adobe RGB 1998 in our 7D's and have our D.P.P., Lightroom, Elements as well as our computer monitor's color spaces match. Then, as everyone has said, if you're not happy with your lab, try another one.

I hate to beat a dead, or dying horse, but what about the EOS-M? Don't get mad anybody, I'm just inquiring. Thank you.  :)

You're welcome. Cool website too. I like video as much as still photo, just finding time to do both can be a chore. Cheers!

Third Party Manufacturers / Re: The Blackmagic Production Camera 4K

The Blackmagic Design cameras are pretty awesome for what they are and how they've burst onto the video market, but for us Windows-based PC owners without a brand new Thunderbolt input device, they're useless. I don't even think that a stand-alone SSD reader exists, so that puts the kibosh on my interest. As if I have the cash-ola to spend anyways!  ::)

Your video was good and eerie. Your "web" link is to an email link, not to an actual website.

Whatever happened to the EOS-M firmware update?  :(

Site Information / Re: Love or Hate Canon Rumors Forum

Personally, I like this site very much and the info, reviews, ideas and tech knowledge that resides on it. I think there are multitudes of different shooters on here that provide lots of different opinions. Sometimes there are insults and differences but, it's a great big world. Besides, how else would I find out about the firmware update for the EOS-M that's coming soon?  ;)

That is a great side by side photo comparison of your 1Dx and your 7D with battery grip attached on your TDP & Flikr pages. I don't think I've ever seen the 2 together like that and it's an interesting glimpse for those of us 7D owners who (a. can't afford a 1Dx & b. don't have a camera store nearby to check the beast out). I just keep looking at the two for differences knowing how much the 7D weighs and feels, etc. I bet the 1Dx is quite a handful. That's pretty cool, thanx.

Lenses / Re: EF or EF-S for 7D/70D

The EFS 10-22mm is also an outstanding lens as well. We are very pleased with that one.

I do stand corrected. RocklandDragon, I appreciate your responses and am surprised at the deal at Best Buy. Cool beans for you. Good luck with which ever body you do choose to keep and like everyone says, good glass can make a good camera a great camera, limitations aside of course. Cheers!  :)

Anyone besides me notice that the OP never replied to anyone after his/her initial question? If they are indeed reading the replies here, the money they spend at 'Best Buy' would be foolishly wasted compared to buying online at B&H or Adorama. Talk about retail markup!

We love our white lenses, people think we're professionals!!   ;D

Rent one like others are saying and you'll see for yourself. The lens is awesome, but it's also very heavy, will sway in ANY wind, becomes a target for vandalism or theft and requires a very stable tripod. Oh, and it's $13,000 dollars. Now if you are the person who won the Powerball last night, go for it. The thing takes awesome pictures and you'll be surprised at it's IS capabilities. Lug it around for a while and you'll have arms like Popeye!  ;D

Just jumped into this thread without reading the previous entries, but my definition of "Pro"? Getting paid for our work and having to pay TAXES on the income and equipment!  :(

EOS Bodies / Re: Expected reception of the 7DII / 70D

Really, no positive choices in the poll. My vote is that the 7D Mk II will be awesome, just like the 1D series is/was for full frame users. The way I look at it, you have to gauge the product with the times. In other words, throughout the last 20 odd years, Canon products were and are excellent tools for their time and have updgraded as time passed and technology permitted, albeit maybe too slow for some users and critics, but look on the sidelines of all professional sports and tell me what brand sticks out.
