Lenses / Re: New Lenses in January [CR1]

If the new 400 f4 is $7,000, they won't sell any. It's just too much money and people aren't gonna buy it. I'm really turned off by the mere proposal of it being that much. I was thinking more in the $2,000-$2,500 range, because I want one!   :)

EOS Bodies / Re: EOS-M Body color - Black or White?
« on: September 10, 2012, 10:16:57 AM »
Looks like the white body will only be available through the Canon online store. I like the idea of shooting wildlife with the EF 300mm f4 IS on the front, maybe even the 1.4 extender if that works too. And then on the other hand, some macro work in the garden with the EF 100mm L IS macro shooting some bugs and bees on rollerskates!  :)

EOS Bodies / EOS-M Body color - Black or White?
« on: September 10, 2012, 09:53:16 AM »
I'm real intrigued with the introduction of the EOS-M body to shoot video with. Along with the adapter, I can bolt on any of my EF lenses and shoot video 'till the card fills up or the battery dies. But I want a white body and cannot find a retailer that will have them when they become available. Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks everyone.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: EOS 7D FW2.0: Problems anyone?
« on: August 29, 2012, 12:20:15 PM »
My 7D quit displaying the shot image for the 4 second setting I had it on. After turning off then on again, it started displaying the shot image again. Otherwise, I believe it is performing better than it did prior to the firmware update.

"it does not state this in the "new" firmware manual Canon released"

Can anyone provide the link to this new firmware manual? I may have missed it along the way. Thank you everyone. Looking on Canon's website, the latest 7D manual is dated June and I don't see a updated version.
Thanks again.

Well, that's what this thread was about - shooting downhill skiing with a 7D, not shooting tv shows like House or 24 OR comparing dslr's to RED video cameras. 'Delicious bokeh' means nothing to sports video shooting.

I don't understand why people are buying still cameras to shoot video. Do they think it's vogue? Who here would want to ski down a mountain slope with a 7D pasted to their face or clumsily clunking at their chest when there are sooo many well worth camcorders out there that will fit in one's pocket and create stunning HD video at clip sizes up to hours on end(not at the 12 or 24 minute limit as the 7D), have mulitiple video scene choices, settings, and auto focus to choose from. Wow, snowcast, good luck. How about sharing your experiences with the rest of us when you return? Cheers!   :)   ps - stock up on compact flash cards too

EOS Bodies / Re: 7D Firmware update - any news there?

Well, looks like I might have some power(or at least a little bit of good timing). Thank you eveyone who posted the announcement of the update I inquired about here. "Team Canon" I'll call us, great work! I hope we are all happier with our 7D's. Heck I might look into shooting some video now with it. Cheers everyone!  :D

EOS Bodies / 7D Firmware update - any news there?
« on: June 27, 2012, 11:14:27 AM »
Many of us are still patiently awaiting the much anticipated new 7D firmware update that was posted here a few weeks ago. Any news of this actually happening anyone? Thank you.

EOS Bodies / New Firmware for MkIII [CR2]
« on: May 29, 2012, 11:29:36 AM »
Any mention of a new firmware update for the 7D? That rumour was thrown out a few weeks back and no word since. Just wondering if it's gonna happen or not. Thanx.

Natural upgrade for the 7D owner would be a 1D4

Or a 7D with the new updated, God blessed, improved, squeaky-clean, fast, no-noise firmware update!!  :)
