EOS Bodies / Canon EOS Rebel T3i Video Test
« on: February 27, 2011, 02:02:09 AM »

I did a quick video test using my new Canon Rebel T3i with a IGUS Drylin Camera Slider. I used iMovie'09 to put the clips together.

A baby 60D? I think my Rebel T2i will be on the for-sale shelf for this worthy upgrade. Wow! articulating screen, remote flash control and manual audio control for video. Canon is sure cutting into the 60D market share. I bet some people are feeling 60D buyer's regret right now...

Thank you very much for the compliment.

I had a blast making this production with the IGUS camera slider. I see no issues with the weight of the EF70-200 lens on the camera when paired with the slider. I only suggest dual tripod support on the extremes of the slider to handle the weight.

I will be posting future IGUS camera slider productions soon...

EOS Bodies / IGUS Drylin Camera Slider Video Test with Canon 1D Mark IV
« on: January 21, 2011, 02:42:25 PM »

I did a quick commercial production shoot over the holiday weekend with a Canon 1D Mark IV and the IGUS Camera Slider. Skeptical at first, I thought the $150 cinematic tool from IGUS on Amazon performed really well considering the great price.

Interesting...Would that make the T3i a T2i replacement or upgrade? Either way, the Rebel price point is a great DSLR value.

Lenses / Re: EF 70-300 f/4-5.6L IS Review

Two quick questions about this lens.
First, did you end up only using the extreme end of the zoom range (300mm) most of the time? (and if you did, would you suggest just using the EF 300mm f/4 IS instead for a Safari like yours?)
Second and final question, did you shoot any Safari pictures with the EF 70-200mm f/2.8 IS II so I can compare the overall image quality?

Thanks!

Does anybody know if this is a free upgrade or discounted service for CPS Gold or Platinum members in the US? I will try to inquire myself and update my post later.

Thanks
