5D3 will be a game changer for many... Canon better do it right.

I never imply education or workshop is silly. I completely agree when apply for newspaper, mags. You'll need some "paper" to back you up.. However, I think a strong porfolio is even better than the "qualified paper"has anyone ask the protoghapher: Do you have "qualification certificate"?
I only heard: "Can I see your Works?"
For a self employed photographer, no. But if you are looking at getting hired on with a magazine, newspaper or what have you, I'm sure they'd want to see some sort of education background. It boils down to where you want to go with photography.
Edit- to add another point, there's a very good school in my area that teaches all forms of photography with business foundations. If you were to break all the phases down into workshops, it would cost double. Most working photographers are always going to workshops to expand on their knowledge. Learning is just part of the game. Saying education is pointless is just silly.
I know everyone of the 5D users likes to bash the 7D with the ISO and it is true but are you really going to be using a high ISO if you have a 580 EXii flash?
In a reception you might well want the background in focus so need f/8 or so - reducing the light, and needing more iso to keep the shutter speed reasonable
I hate to say this, people who suggest the 24-105 are those who got them with the 5DMKII kit. And we all know people would usually promote what they have, hence you hear a lot of praise for this lens. It simply represents the fact that thats what people have.
I had both 24-70 and 24-105. I say that 70-105 isnt too much. You can walk forward a few feet. The 2.8 is much more important than the extra reach. And the extra IS? Thats useless and its canon's marketing strategy to get people to buy both lenses. The REAL PLUS of the 24-105 is that it is a sharp lens. sharper than the 24-70 by a bit. And that should be your main reason to consider the 24-105. Its the sharper image quality vs the f/2.8. Forget the reach and the IS, they are nonsense.
Autofocus at Video and Live Viewcuz there is still no word on AF @videomode compared to the Nikon D4.
If the specs are between the 1D X and the 7D and you'll buy it no matter the cost, why don't you just buy the 1D X?
Unfortunately I dont believe we will see this feature anytime soon on Canon camera. While I would love to get AF for video mode, first my understanding is most people using video professionally prefers manual focus for video.
More importantly (and maybe someone could confirm this), I am almost positive the AF capability you refer to in the Nikon D4 is related to a patent Nikon has and therefore Canon cannot implement it the same. Maybe they have not found a way to circonvent this patent or find it is not important enought...
I have tried the AF in video mode on a Nikon camera in a store once, and not sure it works as well as some believe. It was not focusing where I wanted it to focus - it can be limiting to some degree. I hope someone comes up with a solution for us mortal wishing to have some kind of help with AF in Live View mode while shooting occasionial videos...

yeah I usually have the 16-35 on a 1D3 i dont like the 24-70 so i dont have oneYeah I like my 24-105 but quite often f4 just doesnt cut it
the other body I usually have 85mm on the 5D2 or 70-200
but you can get decent bokeh from it
