ouch.. 6 out of 6 missed focus?? even my old historic 30D wouldn't do it.
using my 5d3 and the focus is nail on everytime (95%+).. my 1d2 is also very reliable at AF. hitting focus around 85%

I have the 24-70 and i think that lense is horrible at AF, most of my missed AF is from that lense, thus i rarely use it

EOS Bodies / Re: 1DX Worth the Money?

unless you're shooting with 2 camera side by side, I would sell the 5d3 & money from 1d4 to buy 1dx. (the 60d as backup)

Why cant you spend $900 on a tripod?? After all, you may save 3,4 hundred $ compare to other CF tripods such as benro, feisol, manfr...
if you're using the tripod once every week or so, the purchase is debatable. But considering weekly uses, those few $$$ extra is well worthed.
Serious tripod user with close/details comparision between CF companies will find Gitzo, RRS are the best. (yes, those minors detail are important and worth extra $$$)

To Obaidey: must it be Brandnew? if not, try

I've tried to argue this point time and time again.  The 5D2 isn't as good as anything regarding the 5D3.  The 5D2 isn't a bad camera.  The 5D3 just happens to be better, at everything.

Landscape shot, tripod mounted, manually focused, ISO 100. How is the 5DIII better?

(If you say 'becuase it has one more MP', I'll scream...   ;) )
yes, landscape.. Not much different.. but the HDR is when no post  (i been having lot of joys shooting HDR landscape)
but landscape? isnt better with D800?
asking 5d2 n 5d3 shooting at  (Landscape shot, tripod mounted, manually focused, ISO 100)
is same as asking Ferrari VS Toyota hybrid cruise @ 60mph.

how about:
OUT: 50,85,70-2002.8
IN: 70-200 2.8 IS II
the 70-200II is just as sharp as 135L@2.8 plus very convienience lens for wedding. To me, It doesnt matter how many lens you have, it's about what lens can you use.

I'd suggest doing some serious research on shooting video with a DSLR first. The main reason these "stills" cameras have become so popular in the "film" world is because of the sensor size, beautiful image quality & availability of so many lenses. What you don't hear so much about is ALL the workarounds needed to accomplish that feat.

You'll also need to invest in: proper stabilization (to avoid jittery images), fluid tripod-head (to help with rolling shutter), an optical/ electronic viewfinder (you need to focus manually off the LCD screen), tons of memory cards (they fill up REALLY FAST at 1080p), batteries (they die fast while on live view), external mic (so you don't hear every little touch of the camera), ND filters (to get the shutter speed down to the proper setting)...

And that is just the bare essential. Then to take it to the next level:

Rod & Rail system, follow-focus unit, gears, matte-box, external audio recorder, more support rigs, and then all the post production needs...

It gets expensive.
Read his reply Carefully....
and do a search on each item, you'll find the T3i/T4i probably the *Cheapest* thing in the rig to make good film clip

EOS Bodies / Re: could the new EF-M mount support FF sensors too?

yes, the EF-M mount probably wont fit a FF sensor in.. BUT.
Why Can An EF mount camera be mirrorless?

Lenses / Re: Keep 70-200 f4 IS or go for f2.8 IS II?

is the IS 2.8II feel that heavy?? I have it but never feel the weight unless i carry 2 camera and the 2.8isII is dangling.

this is what i would do:
get 24LII... sell 16-35L
use extra fund for 5d2

may god be with you through this time Craig.

it really depend on what other features it'll have. but if it same as rumored and it's $2000.. I'd rather buy another 5d3 for (~$3200)

Find me an F1.2 Lens on Nikon then switching will be in slight consideration..
