EOS Bodies / Re: New Canon 3D - how much and who would
« on: June 06, 2012, 04:15:51 PM »
I may be interest in this 3d if the price is around $5000 vs my 5d3 since it:

MAYBE: intergrated flash transmitter (very big deal)
more mp.. ** i can choose medium mraw if i need it small.
better build/ weather resistance
longer shutter life cycle
longer battery cycle
5d3 cost $350 for grip :) and it still not same as 1d ser body.

damm.. the more i listed it. the more i want it

Portrait / Re: Portraits of my GF, Would like feedback!!

the first 2 photo (4total) the post hurt my eyes. Does not flatter or pleasing to look at at all.
the composition is also poor,  especially the second images: cutting hand, shoulder. that tree bark does not help her but take away her beauty by adding huge distraction (she's beautiful). at the bottom of the photo, is that a foreground blur or a lens dirt smudging around?
I was disappointed that those 4 pic was took by a 5dmarkIII. it's nothing a decent P&S cant be done.
Natural light or not. #1 priority is qualilty. Your photos is dull, contrast is non-existence

last images is much better, well composed, good lighting. the post may not work for me but i guess it's your style.

Lenses / Re: Canon 50 1.4 worth the upgrade?
« on: April 27, 2012, 03:51:35 AM »
yes, the 50 1.4 is worth the upgrade. (so is the 50 1.2, but not by much IMHO)
I owned 50 1.8II and still have it (though never mount it in last 2,3yrs).
I was amazed by its IQ compared to the much more expensive Canon 24-70.

A buddy of mine always packs a gun with him when meeting people off the internet for expensive transactions. Then again, we're Texans ;D
Does he has the license to carry weapon with him outside??? that's shitty scary to know he did that.

Lenses / Re: 24L or 35L
« on: April 21, 2012, 11:00:56 AM »
if you have 135, then you'll need a middle range: 50mm and a wide angle: 24L

personally, I think the 24L kinda too wide on FF. it's good for venue/scene/creative shots, but couple shot maybe too much distortion. Well, maybe cuz i'm an 85/35 combo guy

But they will be making only 7,000 units per month, maybe thats a lot but thats around of 350 cameras if they work 5 days per week for 4 weeks to supply the whole world?!? Not much if you ask me ;)

Nikon plans to produce 5000 D4 bodies per month :)
but then if you look at the # of Canon user VS Nikon users.. Canon isnt produce fast enough.

EOS Bodies / Re: When will the next 5d mark iii batch be shipped?

Let's just say we wanted to play with them before learning them while shooting a wedding this coming weekend.  Well worth the money, especially if we end up having issues with them, we'll know in advance and can use our "backups".

True, but couldn't have ordered them a couple days sooner to save $180? I don't know your situation so i was just curious. I'm just about the most impatient person you'll ever meet, so its amazing that I didn't pay for rush shipping myself.

In fact, my wife is, at this very moment, having some pretty major contractions. Im going crazy waiting for this baby. I'm super happy I have my 5d3 for this epic event! :D :D :D I have an idea for a photo you guys on here will like. Fingers crossed that this happens tonight or tomorrow!

CONGRATULATIONS............ Wish you&your wife joyful.:).. make sure u record video tooo.. they're priceless
