Software & Accessories / ColorChecker passport, what's wrong?

Hi guys, simple question. Why is it that it is only my flash-color profile that gives me the correct reds?
Every ambient-profile, dual-illuminant or single, outdoor/indoor, sun/shade everything, the sampled wb and the CC-shot gives me reds that are WAY off and purple. All people's lips looks blueish, and red sweaters looks purple. See example:

CORRECT COLORS (flash): I understand it's very hard for you guys to see if it's right colors or not, not having the subjects in front of you, but this one is highly accurate.




WRONG COLORS (overcast): Here you can see the reds turns to some nasty purple. I've tried this a thousand times, same results. I was quite surprised to see the flash profile work last night.



And to me at least, the wb of the right shot is a bit warm, and I've seen that several times, that the greycard built into the CC passport gives to warm wb (why?) but that doesn't explain the purples, correcting the wb makes it even more purple.

And this one is gone completely mental, notice her skin also:



Any ideas folks?

Lenses / Rubber Seal 24-70 f2.8 L

Hi guys!

Anyone know where I can get the rubber seal that's on the back of the mount of a 24-70mm f2.8 mk1?

I asked my local Canon-shop if they could send me one for me to fix myself, and they could, only it was 211 USD! I tried looking on eBay, but couldn't really find one.

Just a quick question, is it in anyway thinkable that the 1d X could have a firmware to add the silent mode of the 5d3?

The mode implemented in the 1d X really is a joke....

Hi guys!

I remembered reading somewhere about the abillity in Focal to see what others numbers for sharpness, AF consistency etc are for a given lens. Anyone know where in the software to find this?

Reason I'm asking is I am on my third copy of the 24mm  f1.4 L II and it is horrible for AF consistency, and even worse in real life than in Focal, so I would love to see what other peoples numbers are.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / 1d X focusing screen

Hi guys!

I know the EC-S focusing screen isn't firmware supported for the 1d X, however, I have tried changing the setting away from the standard screen, and the only lens that metered different was the 135 f2 L, and I've sold that.

Does this mean that I can use the EC-S with the 24 L, 35 L, 50 L and 85 L and NOT have a metering issue? Or does it all change when actually replacing the screen rather than just setting the camera to think it's there?

I would REALLY like to use the EC-S screen, but if the metering is off, no point in spending money on it.

Hi guys!

I want a lightstand that's light and small for a Quadra head in a 70 cm Octa.

Until today i used the stands that came in the Dlite4 kit, but the plastic tighten mechanism snapped when I grabbed it to prevent it from falling over. Metal is what I need!

Tips are most welcome!

Hi guys!

Anyone had any experience they like to share about this portable light?

How much power does it give over two speedlites? I need a simple and light setup that packs a punch. Will be used for portraits, not sports but also need to freeze some action like kids at play.
Can I shoot at 1/1000s and have any power? Tired of speedlites

EOS Bodies - For Stills / 1d X liveview bracketing problem.

Hi guys!

I was just out shooting and wanted to some HDR and I have my camera set to bracketing, I open LiveView to shoot without mirrorflipping when I discover this:

When I want to spread my bracketing shots I normally use the top wheel and that works, then when I want to move the whole scale over or under I use the rear wheel, that NO LONGER works. I have been through the settings and can't find out why I can't spread with one wheel and move the scale with the other. Now they BOTH spread.

Anyone used these? I'm so tired of charging AA's with my 3 CP-E3 battery-packs it's not even funny, and EVERY time I want to use them the batteries have drained. I used 2700 mAh Sanyo AA's and after a week I had to charge again (they haven't been used)

So now I want something I can plug directly to the batterypack and charge them all at the same time.

I read good reviews, and the price is great and I've looked inside one and it looks pretty good!

My QUESTION IS:

How does it hold up after a year or three's use? Do they keep their power level, do they fall apart? I'm not a person who throws them to the ground two times a day, but they will be put to use.

I'm trying to see it on the canon web-site, but can't find good enough info.

I'm looking for the same focusing screen as the the EG-S I had for the 5d2 to see true dof with fast lenses.

Hi all!

I was looking at the Quantum 2x2 to power a couple of my 580 flashes, but from where I am in Norway they seem very hard get a hold of off ebay and others.

Are there any useable alternatives to these Quantums?

I 'm sooooo tired of charging tens and tens of AA-batteries for the CP-E4 packs.
