Lighting / looking for my 1st flash
« on: May 17, 2012, 10:00:50 AM »
good day!

I hope someone would share me his idea on this one. I'm looking for my my 1st flash, for what type
of shooting? HIGH SPEED SYNC as I'll be doing portraits in bright daylight. I haven't tried one (as i'm not a big fan of flash photography) so I don't have any idea how much power do I need.

thanks for your help!

EOS Bodies - For Stills / switching bodies
« on: April 24, 2012, 09:52:54 AM »

Hi to all! :)

upon reading some threads in here about arguments on 5d3 vs d800, there are some guys who were saying they are thinking of switching from canon to nikon and vice versa and there are also a lot of us who are infact wanting to try other brands but are held back due to the fact that we have already invested a lot in gears and lenses.

with that in mind, my question is: Has anyone thought of making an adapter for canon lenses so we can use it on nikon bodies?

EOS Bodies - For Stills / crop conversion
« on: April 16, 2012, 10:31:40 PM »
hi evryone!
after a few years of waiting for the 5d3, at long last, I can already upgrade my 50d to FF. Still I'm thinking of keeping the 50d as a 2nd bodyor a back up.

Problem is I was planning to get a wide angle lens to go with my setup but i'm being comfused with the crop to FF values in lenses since I was looking at EF 17-40mm or EF-S 10-22mm. From what I understand the EF 17-40mm on a crop sensor is 27.2-64mm.
Now the question is does this crop conversion apply to the 10-22mm? The point of confusion for me is that the EF-S lenses were designed only for crop sensors so does this mean the 1.6 factor is  not in effect?

thanks a lot! :)

EOS Bodies / buying a 5DIII overseas or local?
« on: March 03, 2012, 08:16:49 PM »
;D I'm happy that finally I can upgrade my 50D to FF but I feel so sorry for us Aussies having to pay more for such gears. That is why I'm thinking of buying it to overseas B&H, Adorama, Amazon etc.. D-D-Photographics (singapore) was the cheapest I found. With these, there's two things i want to know.

1) if i'd buy it from let's say U.S., do I need to pay GST when it comes here or just the product & postage?
2) If I need to claim for warranty, do I need to sent it to where I bought it or just send it to the nearest canon center?

EOS Bodies / 5dIII battery grip
« on: March 03, 2012, 08:22:47 AM »
the new 5DIII will be having LP-E6 batteries, my question is will the battery grip BGE6 be compatible with the 5dIII?
the body is available for pre-order but never heard about the grip as I need it as well whenever I'll be mounting heavy or long lenses to make it balanced.

EOS Bodies / eos 300X anyone?
« on: November 10, 2011, 06:52:45 PM »
I was updating my mycanon file(canon australia) today as i bought a gear and add it on my shelf then I went to my wish list and removed the one I bought then I thought of adding the 1Dx into my wishlist but unluckily the 1Dx in not on the list of cameras instead when I was scrolling down the choices I come accros an EOS 300X with 28-90mm kit. Does anyone know about this camera? I was thinking it maybe an old camera that has been discontinued that's why i'm not familiar with it but I was too curious about the "X". I tried to search it on their website but it just tells me apologies all the time.

Lenses / please help me choose
« on: December 15, 2010, 07:54:09 PM »
:) i wanted to buy a 70-200mm L-lens and i'm choosing between f4L IS & f2.8L IS II. I have tried using the f2.8 II ones, aside from finding it a bit heavy the price is hefty. I'm weighing if i would get an f4L instead but i haven't tried it yet since there isn't any to hire that's why i'm seeking your help. the downside i guess is using f4 shooting indoors in a natural light and the 67mm filter size.
