Lighting / Re: Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT - I'm impressed!
« on: July 11, 2012, 03:33:21 PM »
I have two 600s and the new transmitter.  With the trasmitter and my two 600s I can sync up to 1/8000 with no issues.  The 600 is awesome, but two with the new transmitter takes it to the next level.  But, why did Canon leave out an AF assist beam on the transmitter??

What was the last Canon camera without video capabilities right out of the box?  Was it the 50D?

My bets are on an entry level mirror-less camera.

I wonder how feasible it is to have IS on fast primes.  Seems like f/2.8 is the max aperture for IS.  Does any company have IS on 35mm SLR lenses that are faster than f/2.8?

Forgotten about the Canon EF 200mm f/2L IS, have we?   ???

.... and it is probably Canon's best lens too ....

I just love it on ff

I'm in Winnipeg and did not order one.  I did not call the store and they did not have any information.  :(

The 24 and it's shallow depth of field and wide perspective render a unique image, I recemond it.

My 24Lii and 35L are awesome wide open, both at f1.4 on full frame.  There is a big difference between a 24 and 35mm lens' perspectives.

Pretty impressive considering the numbers on the 28mm wide open are comparable to the 24LII stopped down to f/2.8.  I bet that 28mm is damn sharp on an APS-C sensor.

24 and 28mm are different animals. The 24Lii is made to use wide open, and it does a great job too.  Sharpnes is only one aspect to a lens.

I have two 600ex-rts on order; when will the ST-E3-RT be available?  No one seems to have the ST-E3-RT.
I have it and been using it for a while, what would you like to know? Shot the attached picture with it and two 600EX-RTs outside in the rain.

I've had it for a few weeks now, and it works quite well.

Lenses / Re: Canon EF 100-400 f/4-5.6L IS [CR2]
« on: June 25, 2012, 05:48:23 PM »
Why not make it a 200-400 f4/5.6L?  I doubt most of its users will use it below 200mm.  It's seen as an alternative to the 400/5.6L as it's reportedly(1) sharper at 400mm versus the prime lens.
