Yeah, London Drugs is just like Shoppers Drug Mart here in Canada, except London Drugs as an usually great electronics section for a drugstore.

Pricewatch Deals / Re: Deal: EOS M w/22mm f/2 STM & 90EX $399
« on: July 20, 2013, 11:49:48 AM »
I think the 270EX II with more power and bounce capability is a much better choice for the EOS M.

I use my ST-E3 and my 600s with M and it works well.  It's the same routine as attaching my 5D3 to the 200/2 —you attach the camera to the flash.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: ND filters /waterfalls on 5D3

The 5D3 can see through my 10 stop filter in live view.  I do that and even meter though it.  Take a shot and if the exposure is off, adjust accordingly.  Go out and try it.  It's digital, not film!

None of the items on the list would make me jump to the MK4 (2 stops of DR ain't gunna happen), but if Canon could somehow make their camera render yellows that are closer to the scene, that would be nice.

Canon has introduced a new EF-M lens, so the format is still alive for Canon.

The keyboard in the dual video seems to exhibit something similar to rolling shutter.

Interesting.

Camera Body Gallery / Re: Anything shot with the EOS-M

First shot right out of camera (not a great work of art!).  This was a JPEG and I cropped to post here.  Full manual (f 7.1; 1/200, iso 100).  A bit too dark for my liking and the histogram is a bit to the left.  Think I'll tweak some to the right for the future..  But, the IQ is very reasonable.

Damn, the moiré!   I'll have to test out my M on something similar.

Why not put another $100ish and get new lens....I just don't get it :-\

Must be great to have that kind of money to burn. How about because $100 can buy groceries for a family for a week?

Family of what, cats?

Sweet. This might mean lower used marked prices for the mark Is. ;)

Don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen.

quote Canon Rumors:

If it’s not coming to Canon USA, I can’t see it coming to Canada either.

EOS-M / Re: EOS M with 600RT assist beam.
« on: July 12, 2013, 12:15:48 AM »
The beam doesn't work when using Live View/contrast detect AF on other bodies (works on the 5D3 in Live View only with AF set to "Quick"). I guess that it won't work on the M since it's always using contrast detect AF.

Thanks.  The only other thing with the M that is missing is the small raw file option.  Maybe that can be added in a future FW update?

EOS-M / EOS M with 600RT assist beam.
« on: July 11, 2013, 11:46:31 PM »
How do I get the M to fire the 600's AF assist lamp?  I turn the AF beam on/off that controls the M's beam and no go.  I set the CF to turn on the AF beam and no go.  I've even RTFM and no go.  Will the 600's AF beam fire for the M, cuz in low light it needs it.

Great camera BTW.
