85/1.8, 200/2, both fast.

Third Party Manufacturers / Does anyone here use a c-loop?

Hi, does anyone here have any experience with this:

I like the idea of it, seems logical.  But will it hold a 2.54 kg (5.6 lb) lens by its tripod mount?

EOS Bodies - For Video / Re: Gizmodo D800 and 5D Mark III Comparison

Looking at the comparisons again, wow are they overexposing the D800 at night and seriously underexposing the 5DmkIII.

Yes, and the D800 is still significantly noisier than the 5D3.

This is Dx0:

I've only ever used DPP and have been very happy.

What's your input?
Money isn't an issue since I've been saving for some time.

Pffft, man-up and buy both.

You got a 5DmkIII and you use Picasa to convert your RAW?  :o
That's really something... get at least LR, or better DxO and Photoshop: you'll finally really take advantage of your amazing camera.  8)

Will this DxO and Photoshop offer an advantage over LR, or even DPP as a RAW converter?

My 5d3 has 2k on it.    :P

Wow, 500,000 on a 50D is amazing.  That's amazing for any camera.

Ken Rockwell is a tool.  And holy cow is that camera ugly as sin.

Hell yeah it's ugly!!!

nikkito, nice website and images.

Can I ask why all of you keep reading his stuff if you do not agree with him, or find some value in his posts? Seriously this is like a bunch of old women arguing that Nancy dies her hair.

I try not to, but I like Canon Rumors, and people keep posting links to his website. Despite his idiocy, I do find amusement by how he's so convinced that he thinks he knows what he's talking about.

Based on his obsession with taking overly saturated snap shots with expensive equipment, I figured that there must be some entertainment value in it that I'm overlooking. So, I decided to give it a go:

What do you think, guys, did I crank that saturation slider far enough to the right :D?

Muh eyes!!  Muh eyes!!!

I use my 50mm 60% of the time and my 24mm 50% of the time.  The rest of my lens are dresser queens.

The uninformed camera buying public loves over saturated and over sharpened photos...
FWIW, Canon clearly knows this, as is evident from the Standard Picture Style.
The uninformed camera buying public is also the uninformed photographer-hiring client. All of my work is over-saturated and over-sharpened and my clients just love it.

I feel dirty....

Moneh is moneh, we like moar moneh.

Carry Canon L lenses out shooting. Which pair would you usually carry?

Finally I have completed my kit. It is composed of:

16-35mm f/2.8 MKII L
24-70mm f/2.8 L
Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 OS
Sigma 50mm f/1.4

Well, you only own two L lenses, so the choice is easy.

If I were to take two of mine, I'd grab the 24L and 50L most of the time.  The 24L is magical, it's in the 200/2 league of pure awesome.

When I had the 50D it was my 35L, now it's my 50L on the 5D3.

50mm on FF >>>>> 35mm on APS-C.
