Lenses / Re: Which lenses need micro-adjusting?
« on: April 01, 2012, 11:34:42 PM »
With my 50/1.2 that I only shoot at f1.2 (why else buy it?(well, besides the many other reasons to buy it)) any adjustment I dial in is lost due to subject or camera movement.  So why bother setting an AF adjustment?  If I shot everything on a tripod with a static subject, then yes, it needs an adjustment dialed in, but in that case I would be manual focusing anyways, so the adjustment is moot.

This is what I've come to realize lately.  ymmv

Help please..any thoughts

Yes, start a new thread.

To the OP, the 85/1.8 is 85.3%'ish of the 1.2L for less money.

EOS Bodies / Re: 36x36 mm cmos sensor

Would the 36x36mm sensor/format have issues with lens hoods?  I'm looking at my 24mm lens right now, and I think with the hood on you'd have issues.  They are petal cut hoods for a reason, right?

I have attached on shot showing how bad the vignetting is without the correction.

In an ironic twist, that bad vignetting is one thing I love about my jump from a crop to a full frame. My new 24L's vignetting is severe and awesome.

What I do like is when you're zoomed right to the max you can hit the zoom to bring it back to zero zoom.

The first that come in my mind is when I go to Cuba. Cuba does not allow GPS device in their country.

Yes!!  I had my GPS unit in my bag the last time I went to Cuba.  They kept it at the airport when I arrived, and I picked it up on my way home.  But wow, the red tape was crazy!  I had to fill out lots a paper work and pay an fee that was about $8 CAD when I claimed it back.  The Cubans were most interested in the device than anything.  I showed them how it worked and the were utterly amazed when it showed our location on its map.

Cuba is an amazing place, go if you can.

I'd like it in camera. The current one looks like it begging to be knocked off and damaged.

the RAW files, yes.

Yes, RAW.  Those are huge files!  My 5D3 files run 24-30mb, 240 images on an 8 gig card, approximately.
