That last one is really cool. I can imagine it as a standout... or printed on canvas...

Lenses / Re: Dead bug on the inside of my Sigma 50mm f/1.4 front element!! WTF???!!!
« on: January 28, 2012, 11:04:24 PM »
Send it in to sigma for cleaning. I had good experiences with their customer service. You'll get a cleaned calibrated updated lens back at a decent price.
I sent in a 50 for focus issues.
Not that long ago I sent canon a brand new 60 macro b/c it had a shiny piece of glass behind the front.e. So it can happen to anyone..
Good luck.

Lighting / Re: Softbox vs Diffuser
« on: January 27, 2012, 02:48:04 AM »
Most of the time it depends on the shot.
I prefer softboxes indoors/in studio as they are easier to setup and control unlike in outdoors especially in windy conditions. Indoors I can also use a tripod more conveniently.

Outdoors - mostly for fill in I use flash with a diffuser but none of these are written in stone so I improvise according to what the cutomer/I/the shot wants

I'm far from good but I learned a lot from these guys:

Lens Gallery / Re: EF 24-70mm 2.8L
« on: January 23, 2012, 03:45:53 AM »
Before I bought it I read a lot about this lens not being sharp enough... Maybe I was just lucky with my copy. Certainly it's good enough for me and it quickly became my favorite all around lens. (I shot these on a 60D and even though I can't MA my lenses on it like on my 7D or 5D2 somehow I never really needed to.. )

Software & Accessories / Re: Canvas Gallery Wrap - What company do you recommend?
« on: January 22, 2012, 06:46:34 PM »
My site is hosted at zenfolio and they collaborate with Mpix, so I usually order from them.
So far I had no problem with them. (neither my customers)
Plus if I ever will they have some pretty good satisfaction guarantees.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: 5D MK2 - Price
« on: January 21, 2012, 11:57:00 AM »
Not sure how fast you want it and if you are only looking for brand new from a retailer or would consider Canon refurb, but I got a refurbished from Canon's store just before Xmas for $1699.00.
Maybe I was lucky but it was brand new w/less than 200 act. and not a scratch or dust particle on it
http://shop.usa.canon.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/subCategorySort_10051_10051_-1_29252_highPrice_list
They add shipping and tax but it worth to sign up for their emails in case they'll have another deal like that.
