Please share your 5D Mk3 wildlife images and thoughts about the 5D mk3 for wildlife.

No word from Canon about the 200/800 IS sound issue.
Will it be a firmware fix or hardware fix.

Will it be fixed, etc.
Anyone more info on this ?

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Why so much trust in DXO.
« on: April 20, 2012, 04:27:29 AM »
Check this topic.
So why should we trust there sensor numbers ???

70-200 version II rates lower then 70-200 version I.

Think about this.
They know and we all know this is not true.
DXO guys also rate EVERY Nikon counterpart lens higher than Canon.

In real life the 70-200 II is one of the best zoom lenses in the world.

But DXO has nothing to do with real live.
Number numbers.

What we see with our eyes doesn't matter anymore.
Number numbers numbers and numbers. This is a bad thing.

!!!!!! We all trust ONE company for all there numbers !!!!!!

The company that rates the 70-200 F4 IS and 70-200 F2.8 IS II not that good !!!!!!!!!!!!
While these lenses are tested superb everywhere.

FOR THOSE having the 300mm F2.8 version II, I feel sorry.
The 24-105 resolution wise is much better. Funny these clowns.

I own the latest NEX 7 and it should be close to the 5D according DXO numbers.
Well my eyes tell me it's not. Why ??

Take the camera , take pictures, see yourself and forget about this commercial company that sales software.

EOS Bodies / 5D Mark III ISO 100 RAW's - NEW
« on: March 08, 2012, 09:21:09 AM »
Maybe already posted, but there are also 100 ISO RAW files available in the gallery.

Right here:

It seems that some detail is still present in the soft images.
Maybe to much sharpening for this jpg,but maybe a good sign for the RAW files.

Example (from the Canon website) and cropped and saved at quality 8 due to filesize.
The focus is on her left eye.

I have the 1D mark IV on a tripod and pointed to a bottle which is on the table.
Camera settings are : AV, AI SERVO an 10FPS burst and 5FPS (slow setting)

With 10 FPS I noticed that not all frames taken are exposed correctly.
With 5 FPS It seems all frames are correctly exposed.

I was wondering if it is normal that some frames are not exposed correcty with AI servo / 10 FPS combination ??

EOS Bodies / Childish Behaviour

When Canon started the Megapixel race the only thing you read on forums was:

Why  can't Canon do like Nikon.
Less MP and clean high ISO images (like d700/d3s)

Now Canon is doing exactly this ( flagship 1dx) !
Always complain. So many forum topics where people are switching to Nikon ? why ?

I am certain 99% will not need 36mp images.
I would say go outside and take some pictures.
All current cameras (Canon and Nikon) will do just fine for most of us. (I would say all of us)

I really hope Canon will not go into MP race.
