EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: Buying 2nd hand 70D, what to check?

Yes, most likely its stolen if not a scam. Even the cheapest everything-most-go sale; it won't still be priced like that.

From where I am, the lowest price I could find is about $650 but that's rare and considered sold the moment its posted.

Lenses / Re: Thoughts on Having a 35 and a 50 on Crop?
« on: October 11, 2014, 08:40:59 AM »
I recently bought a 35mm F2 IS to be used as my "normal" lens with my 70D. If I'll add either a 50mm or an 85mm it will be for shooting portraits.

Third Party Manufacturers / Re: Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8 VC Gets First Test

Looks very promising.  I'm looking forward to getting my hands on this soon and comparing it the 16-35mm f/4L IS I'm testing right now.

I'd be waiting for that review Dustin. Hope you can have your hands on the lens the soonest. :)

That's nice and all but the 7D2 does not have NFC you see. ;)

Another excuse for an add-on accessory perhaps?

Looking at 7D II specs, I can't wait to see rumors 5D4 & 1DX II from Mr. CR

+1... Btw, too early for 6DMK2?

I've read everything there is about dot-tune and was very hopeful I could have the same success like lots of people who used it from countless forums.

Result? So inconsistent w/ my 70D and the 4 lens I have. Its good some find it useful and works for them, but for now I've reverted back to the 0's.

EOS Bodies / Re: Canon 7DII - Did you preorder?
« on: September 15, 2014, 11:17:19 AM »
Nope; nor planning in the future, timing and all that's why.. A very solid body though, specs-wise.

I already have the 70D and the next body I'm gonna have will be a fullframe; by then the 70D will either go or retained as my cropup.

I've also came across this but couldn't remember where, all I remember there was a quick dismissal on the topic.

Good thing its being discussed again. Thank you, new thing to keep in mind and I've learned a thing today.

After 6 yrs. in the capital, I'm back here at Southern Leyte, Philippines - 80 miles from where Typhoon Haiyan wreaked havoc last year.

The scenery here is dominated mostly by vast coasts and few big forests.

Canon EF Prime Lenses / Re: Canon 35mm F2 IS

I got mine today, bought it pre-owned at roughly $460. It was bought stateside by a photo studio owner, still in excellent condition and can pass as new.

Anyway, I'm still testing it now. Pics to follow.

I have a 4x6 hard edge, soft edge, & a reverse grad from Hitech, all 0.6 except for the 0.9 rev. I also have their 105mm cpol.

So far they are quite good optically and quality-wise. My SE has few tiny scratches, but they don't scratch that easy though, specially if you store them in a quality filter pouch - one thing I've neglected before.

As Robert mentioned they are worth the price. I would've gone for the Lee's if only they were available at the time of my purchase; Singh Ray was just too expensive for a hobbyist like me.
