Awesome shot!  You really nailed the focus on the eyes.

I was expecting a candy bar. ;D  Anyway, I like the 1st shot a lot.

Maybe clean the camera's battery contacts?  Better yet, use this opportunity to rationalize an upgrade to a 5Dmk3! ;D

Awesome shots!  Good focus, I like the blue on the top fly but I prefer the bottom shot because more of the fly has the leaf as the BG, making it easier to focus on the subject.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: Off camera flash cords
« on: June 07, 2012, 07:25:25 AM »
I've had experience with the shorter flash cords which really dont allow much freedom other than macro applications and brackets... PC cords are a bit archaic and temperamental at times, but works if needed.  The longer 30 feet cords mentioned above sounds interesting but I wouldn't be thrilled having a long thick spiral cord attaching my camera to a flash 30 something feet away...  seems more like a liability than a help and would at that point almost prefer a second flash for a master/slave thing rather than going that route but that's just me.

The 30-ft. cords mentioned aren't coiled.

I've got the 30 ft. OCF ETTL cord, it works great!

Chili dog is funny, too bad about the distracting background.

I find the "kneeling down" shot to be the most visually appealing.  The horns are interesting and I like how the animal is looking at the camera.  Good job!

If you use a tripod, some multi-exposure shots of lambs running/jumping might be interesting.

Here's some air show pix shot with 5Diii, 70-200 2.8L II, and Canon 2x teleconverter.  Not the best lighting conditions but I was pleased with the gear.

Awesome shots Neil!  I have some Guar Gum and a set of Kenko extension tubes being delivered tomorrow and these type of water shots are just what I want to attempt.

Great shots there HH!  If it were me, I would have cropped the distracting stem out of the bug pic.

Awesome!  Thanks for the tips about using Guar Gum and rinse aid, I'll have to try that out (if I can figure out where one can buy Guar Gum). :)
