EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: Worth getting an SD card for 5D3?
« on: June 11, 2013, 12:30:31 PM »
For weddings I throw a big 64gb SD card in there along with my 16gb CF cards and have it write RAW to both cards. At the end of the day I have a backup of everything I shot. The SD slot is slow though, I wouldn't use it for sports.

WWOOOOOWWWWWWW!  :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
Did you guys see the MTF chart on the Nikon???

Nikon without TC:

Nikon with TC

Borderline perfection!!

Here's the Canon to compare:

You can't compare Canon MTFs to Nikon MTFs. It's not a valid comparision.

you can not come with assumption like that with out explaining what you meant

we dont know if this is estimated MTF, Canon and Nikon has a predilection to exhibit estimated MTF results  to impress

Yes I can.

Ok , tell me

Hey man, I really don't give a crap. I actually meant that I can come with an "assumption" if I want to.

The way I understand MTFs is that they are not comparable between brands because the the info is not gathered the same way. There are no standards.

If you want links, I have zero desire to find them for you. But I doubt you need them as you seem to be way-super-smart.

EOS Bodies - For Video / Re: Philip Bloom reviews Canon 1DC

I don't even shoot video (much) with my DSLR but I love Philip's thoughts on cameras.

Great review!

I'd vote for the 6D + 24-105mm a hundred times of I could. The Full Frame world is an amazing thing.

Reviews / Re: I'm amazed by my 5D Mark iii
« on: January 10, 2013, 10:29:58 PM »
I actually made the same jump about 4 months ago. The 5D Mark III is an incredible camera. I don't think there is one single thing about it that I don't like. I've shot a couple of weddings with it so far and the high ISO is fantastic and a far underscored feature is the silent shooting. For weddings this is priceless! I went to a wedding and the photographer (who is crazy good) was shooting with a Nikon D3s and it was stupidly loud.

The steps get farther apart the higher you go. I've had the 1D Mark IV for a long time now.

EOS Bodies / Re: An EOS 3D Mention [CR1]

So if Canon releases a 50+mp camera does that mean for sure that they have started using a new manufacturing process? Could they get 50mp out of their current process?

EOS Bodies - For Video / Re: Do you miss APS-C?
« on: December 14, 2012, 11:27:00 AM »
As someone that went from a 7D to a 5D3 and still own both I can so easily answer that.
Do I miss my focal ranges being just plain wrong? No.
FF feels like home.

I never look back. I keep the 7D as a back up at weddings but that's all, it's hardly ever used.

I recently shot at a very dark wedding reception too and I had an issue with the 5DIIIs outer points with a 430EXII.

I switched to the center column and it worked fine. *shrug, it didn't really bother me.

EOS Bodies / Re: 6D Top Focus Point Light Bleeding Issue
« on: December 13, 2012, 02:16:26 PM »
Even if the light was on during an exposure there is no way that little amount of extra light would affect the exposure. If that was enough light to throw off the exposure then the the AF point light would already be throwing it off. But, as neuro said, the lights are off then anyway.

I don't see this as an issue aside from the possible annoyance.

You're not in Live View mode, you are in Movie Mode. It's showing you the movie crop.

If you want to go to Live view just press the live view button. You don't have to flip the switch.
